Personally I just want a standard escort BO layout, say the fleet sabre or fleet patrol escort, with a 3-3-4 console spread. I don't think that is too much to ask for. The KDF get one (even if they are always moaning about its broken turn point).

well, 5 front weapons aren't too much !!
consider that you can equip only 3 DHCs ... the 2 remaining slot can be used for 2 torpedo launcher or 1 torpedo and 1 dual phaser beam bank.
afterall, an escort MUST deal massive dameges, more than any other ship ... but ships like the Dreadnought Cruisers deal more dameges and are generally stronger than an escort.
also, I think there is a KDF ship that, through the siege mode, can divert all weapons on the fore ... 7 FORE WEAPONS !!!
so please DEVs, give us the FED Destroyer Escort ...
consider that you can equip only 3 DHCs ... the 2 remaining slot can be used for 2 torpedo launcher or 1 torpedo and 1 dual phaser beam bank.
afterall, an escort MUST deal massive dameges, more than any other ship ... but ships like the Dreadnought Cruisers deal more dameges and are generally stronger than an escort.
also, I think there is a KDF ship that, through the siege mode, can divert all weapons on the fore ... 7 FORE WEAPONS !!!

The Galaxy X can deal more damage if very well assembled- of course it has no way of delivering said power.
So you want an escort that has cruiser shields and hull, 5 front weapons, and can disappear at will.

Okay first of all
The turn rate is absolutely horrendous, so using low arc weapons like is a bad idea for the Dreadnought
It can't disappear at will because it doesn't have a Battle Cloak
The Phaser Lance has such a small arc you have an even harder time lining up that shot than you do lining up DHC's
Your dream Escort is Overpowered, nearly as OP as the Jemmy Bug
Besides, you don't need 5 Forward slots, 4 is more than enough for any end game Escort
The devs have specifically stated in the past that 5 forward facing weapons are currently not supported by the ship framework engine. Even if it were, escorts already roast ships running 4 Dual Heavy cannons. Do we really want to give them 5? And a escort with cruiser level hull and shields (*cough* bug ship *cough*), but with battle cloak (overpowered if you do this). On top of that you want to give it Lt. Commander Engineering? The ship would be close to invincible. You realize that any escort with battle cloak is going to have to take a major hull penalty for balancing reasons. Bird of Prey are already a pain to kill in PvP due to their battle cloak. The one advantage escorts have over them is the fact that a fully buffed Beam Overload III can kill them in one shot. Double the bird of prey's hull and they would destroy everything.

You want cruiser level shields, cruiser level hull, and the Cruiser LtC Engi... and 5 forward weapons... the turn rate and inertia of an escort... and you still think that's balanced? Or even remotely fair? AND you want a battle-cloak?

ok, reduce the hull to 32.000 and the shield modifier to 0.9 but let me keep the 5 fore weapons T_T

The Guramba can't do that. It has the same weapon slots as a regular escort: 4 forward, 3 aft.

In short, Siege mode simply reroutes power from the engines to the weapons and gives it the ability to drain power from it's target.
That power can be used for the Javelin, which reverts the ship back to normal mode.
There's nothing in the description that says all of the aft weapons become fore weapons.
in fact he attack me with beam arrays only ... maybe he attacked me from the broadside so i thought he had 7 fore weapons LOL ...
