Just would like some feedback on it,been wanting them to get it in game from the start, but just wondering if it's worth it ? Also any thoughts on a good build for it,and if they might get a fleet version ? thanks so much.

The Steamrunner will not get a Fleet version because its stats already comply with Fleet grade statistics (it has more Hull and Shields than a Fleet Patrol Escort running the same equipment, and has the same console layout).

Not wanting to start something bad here or get anyone upset so just want to say that everything here is IMHO. Having said that...

The Steamrunner is pure beast mode!

I run it with a TAC toon, All Fleet Phaser weaponry (3 MKXII DHCs up front with a fleet MKXII Quantum Torp and 2 MKXII Turrets Aft with the Borg Kinetic Cutting Beam). It is outfitted with all the Borg stuff (i.e., console, eng, shields, deflector) and am grinding the Omega reputation system to see if the Borg plasma torpedo will help (but that's another thread right there).

Running redundant Tactical Teams, High Yield Torpedos and Cannon Scatter Volleys in standard Escort mode. I don't quite remember what other consoles I have in it but I did invest in 3 MKXII Console - Tactical - Prefire Chambers (as these help both DHC and Turrets. I am VERY happy with the results [insert big evil grin here]).

If the Steamrunner got a Fleet version, I wouldn't mind (and would be very happy if they did) but it can already hold it's own in both PVP and Elite STFs. It should, as I've invested heavily on it's consoles and weaponry.

I was fortunate enough to get it during the sale but I would've gladly paid full price for this.

Is it worth it? I would have to say YES. (and steps off his soapbox).

it's a good ship, and if you wait it may go on sale again. the ship that comes close to the steamrunner is the fleet patrol escort. jump on stowiki and check it out the BO's are almost the same and the steamrunner has a little bit more hull and shields. the console it comes with is great too.

It's a fleet quality ship (10 console, 34.5k hull) which unlocks account wide (compared to per toon for actual fleet ships) with a 1.0 shield mod. The console is one of the better ones out there for team play and it's not bad for soloing.

It's really the JHAS's handsome heir. It can't match the bug for turn or inertia but it's on par otherwise, and it's accessible.

I run 4 DHCs right now in PvP, the changes really come at the Eng and Sci depending on what I'm doing.

    PvP pugging

    EPTS1, Aux2Sif1
    EPTA1, Aux2Sif1

    TSS1
Doffs: EPTX cd reduction x2, EPTA bonus to healing, Aux2Sif HoT, rotating doff
The baseline resists with this are really nice. Take it to PvE with armor tailored to the enemy. The silly part is that you can drop that Aux2Sif on your buddies every 10 seconds, greatly increasing your teams healing. When the Steamrunner first went live it had a shield mod of .7 so I started running this, and it's honestly not bad. Your shields are not going to be full very often, the goal is just to keep some up.

    PvP with a babysitter

    EPTW1, DEM1
    EPTS1, DEM1

    Rotating
EPTX cd reduction x2, DEM doff, rotating

PvP with a babysitter and I'm getting out turned I'll swap out both Aux2Sif for Aux2ID, same situation with a pug and I'll go 1 Aux2Sif, 1 Aux2ID even though they start to step on each others' toes.

If you really want you can get your hull healing with HE and run double RSP.

PvE you can survive most anything, which is good because you'll be grabbing aggro. Keep the 1 shotting destructible projectiles suppressed and there's not much that will kill you outside of getting too greedy in SB24 and pulling 10 or 15 mobs. I personally add TS and tric mines for PvE because NPCs don't complain, but that's just me. General escort preferences can be seasoned to your taste.
