Hi everyone,
I went out and puirchased the Steamrunner when it was on sale.
It seems like a pretty good ship to me.
Anyway I heard somewhere that it would be good for an Aux2Bat x 2 build, but I have no idea how this would work or how to set it up.
If anyone has any info on this type of build, could you share the knowledge please.
Another idea I have is to cycle EPTS2 and EPTW 1, though I would like to try an Aux2Bat build as they can (apparently) keep all power levels high.

The basic theory is this;
You use 3 rare or better quality technician doffs which reduce the cooldown on all boff abilities each time aux2bat is used, in combination with 2 copies of aux2bat - this results in every boff power being reduced to it's global cooldown timer (or very close), eliminating the need to run copies of anything. In addition aux2bat results in high powerlevels in the 3 other subsystems.
You run EPTS1,ATB1 and EPTA1,ATB1 in a keybind(it is too dificult to attempt manually, spacebar is the best choice) along with Tac Team and any other buffs of your choice. The reason for using emergency power to aux is to give you some aux power available for heals.

Yeah, Aux2Bat builds are to gain more use of higher ranked abilities, but the Steamrunner's high ranked powers are all Tac and are likely to have cannon abilities slotted which can have there cooldowns reduced by DOffs without fancy keybinds or locking out 2x lt. eng abilities.
The build harrymonkley posted would mean that you'll lack any hull heals beyond HE1 on the Steamrunner.
The Aux2Bat idea came to my mind too when I first saw the Steamrunner's layout, but it doesn't seem like it'd work unless you have an exotic build.
Even at that point, I think what you lose (namely the survivability options that come with Lt Eng powers like RSP or Aux to SIF) is bigger than what you gain.
With CMD Tac, Ltc Tac and 2x Lt Eng powers - you can already build in enough of the powers you need to make aux to batts redundant.
At most I'd run 1 copy of Aux to batts on a ship like this, but even then you've now used 3 out of 5 doff slots to double up on powers you can already easily double up on.
CommanderDonatra@Capt.Sisko: ahhh is it supposed to do that?
Norvo Tigan@dontdrunkimshoot: hell ya, maybe
Thanks for all the advice.
I think I'll stick to the standard escort builds.
Thanks again.

The irony really is that less is more with Aux2Bat. The less options you have by design, the more mileage you can pump out of those Tech DOffs. If you're not thirsting for options though it won't do anything for you.
