I was doing No Win Scenario against the Romulans, and my Qin Raptor suddenly stopped moving. I could still fire my weapons and use abilities, but I couldn't turn or accelerate at all.
Later, the same thing happened to my Advanced Escort during a Tholian Red Alert. Weapons and abilities worked, but I couldn't turn or change speed.
And yes, my engines were still powered and everything. I think it might be a bug.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

Pressing "Esc" usually unfreezes it. I have it happen to me too
Maybe it will get fixed one day.. but probably not for awhile, so get used to it haha
Happened to me too in an ISE the other night and yea, hitting ESC works but by the time you've hit it again to get out of the options thingy, you've been one-shotted by the tac cube! Every little second counts in STF's these days! :P

You can steer by either using the A/W/D/S keys, or by holding down both mouse buttons. To change speed, press E to speed up and R to slow down (or drag the impulse bar). R is reverse.

This is why you need to pay attention to the tutorial and not just skip through it.
