Proposal for a NEW PVP MAP!

Hello everyone, in the last days I've played some interesting, often frustrating, bot arenas that gave me an idea.
It could be very little work to implement this in a map, so maybe Borticus and BranFlakes could escalate this to their boss? It's probably a couple of days of a single developer time.

Ok here's the idea, suppose that this is one of the existing PvP maps

Ok usually after starting the arena, the two teams approach the center of the map and start killing each other until one of the two teams reaches 15 points.
In this new game it's the same BUT additionally to the two teams, a T1 ship appears at each spawn point and must be defended.
It could be a freighter in distress.
Being a Freighter In Distress (FID from now on), he can't move from spawn point.
So the situation after starting the game could be the following.

Here's the idea: killing FID grants 3 points instead of normal 1 point, so FID must be defended if attacked, and healed if damaged.
Once killed, a FID does not respawn, so only 3\15 of the total score can be made by killing FID.

It could be great to play this type of FID arena because:
- teams could split in any moment to help defend FID
- healers wont spend entire match extending shields of their favorite escort but could decide to run to FID to heal him
- sci could use their crowd control powers to prevent enemies to run toward FID
- escorts could decide to make a surprise attack and kill enemy FID.

What do you think?

    I think it is a grand idea. Though I would change the Freighter In Distress to something else. FID1 looks too much like Fidi and I would not be inclined to help an AFK hero.

    Space bombing run. Subspace bomb in middle bases at ends. Ship that interacts with bomb cant use weapons or powers but gets a shield regen/s and resist + and a speed boost.

    Capture the bacon, winner takes all.

    Place a large amount of dill in the center of a football shaped map that both teams start at the far ends of. Now try to tractor, repel, or nudge that dill to your teams end. Winning side divies up the loot. Both side gets some non-existent PvP marks and EXP or Expertise. Those on either team that do not get points for nudging, repelling, tractoring, dealing damage, and or heals get nada.

    So we have a Team Deathmatch and Domination...

    We're missing Deathmatch, Last Man Standing, Capture the Flag, and Assault.

    I'd also like to see a form of TDM where it's not a 10v10 - but actually allows for a 5v5v5v5.

    Speaking of which, there are various options and the like that can add flavor to the various game types outside of just different maps as well.

    You can have a Domination where the various areas "captured" actually provide bonuses - might increase damage or healing. Which resources will be most important to the team - to help guarantee them victory in the end?

    As PvPvE was mentioned, one could try to add some confusion - throw things off, by pulling a little Ker'rat off in certain maps. You might have Borg, Undine, Tholians, or even Mirror folks showing up in the middle of the fight.

    One could go on and on - about how certain things could be changed/improved/etc in regard to PvP...

    ...in the end though, does PWE/Cryptic see any money in it?

    5v5v5v5 now thats a cool idea. Maybe something like king of the hill? One point in the center that can be captured. The team who holds it gains points. After 10min the team with the most points wins, or something like that.

    I like this idea, it's not perfect but that's a damn side more interesting then our current situation, if it gets made within the month, put me down for 2000Zen as a show of appreciation.

    So, Borticus, you are our hero here, can you escalate this simple request that could finally bring new content to us PvPers and with a very little development effort?

    Unless i'm underestimating something this should be very simple:
    - copy and paste one of the existing pvp maps
    - add a freighter npc on both teams, with decent hull and shields
    - make the freighter death count as 3(or 4, or 5) points with no respawn

    Well, that seems like the most acceptable approach for Cryptic/PWE. I'd like to see expansions of other PvPvE areas as well (Ker'rat, N'Vak, etc). Of course, Ker'rat hasn't been upgraded for years, and there are age-old glitches on the map, so. . .I'm not terribly confident in their willingness to do anything that might directly benefit the PvP community in terms of content.
