Dear Coaches:

As a reminder, the meeting times are as follows:

N. AMERICA: 7pm/1900 Eastern Standard Time
CENTRAL EUROPE: 1900/7pm Central European time

All of you should have received Eryon's TS information. Please send me an email to the following address if you still need it or were somehow overlooked:

sargon.priorityone@gmail.com

Remember that Branflakes (and possibly Borticus) will be joining us, so bring some good ideas to share (Boot Camp related, of course).

Thank you for having Bort and me on the calls today. :) I'm sure we all share the same sentiment that Bootcamp is going to be a great experience for all involved -- I'm really looking forward to December and supporting it.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

I certainly agree that it went well, and feel good about this in the future.

I admit, I hope we might have another call like this soon.

I did have a couple things I didn't say, one because or nerves (being in a chat with so many old vets and two, TWO Devs, ah ah ah, can make one a bit nervous), and two because I wasn't sure where to insert them.

We talked about how we needed to use stuff in the game, so maybe we should make a private chat channel for this whole thing. Nothing against the OPvP channel, but, having our own channel would make it easier in many ways. Plus each coach or coach and assistant coach could make their own mini-channel to talk to all their students even if on separate teams.

Anywho, when things get a bit closer to the Boot Camp, I will also start telling my fleet more about it and spreading the word among those who I know.

I dunno what the 'rule' is about what we discussed being put onto the forum here, I will just presume as little as possible, and at least say this to Branflakes and Borticus: I've certainly gained a new bit of respect for you both, particularly Bort. What you said gives more of a perspective of why things are they way they are.

I might not always remember what you guys said in that, I'm sure I will get ticked off and mad at something in the future, but at least now I will understand more why, and try to use that to stem my anger.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

The conference calls were a great success. I am delighted to be part of such a brilliant team. I really could not be happier.

    Future calls:

We will be having another call about one week before the first Boot Camp (around Dec 20th). I anticipate having these conference calls once a month, just before the Boot Camp event. This will allow us to stay connected as a community, discuss the future and state of Boot Camp, etc.

I'm very interested to hear more about what was discussed and I'm looking forward to seeing where this all leads.

It's terrible but easy, and these Borg are way cooler than the mess STO and Voyager left us.
May not actually be "way" cooler or even "slightly" cooler.

Cool, stevehale. I am glad to know you are interested. We will create a sign up sheet for people who are interested in going through the Boot Camp. Keep you eyes out on the forums and the STO website. You will begin to hear some buzz over the next few weeks. Until then, you can also check out the website, which is still under construction.

I'd like to add a brief reminder on one of the points made during the call/s.

    * Show some courtesy to teams in PVP. Try not to push them to the spawn and outright annihilate them. This isn't a easy task but I think trying to do this more often than not will help this event.

    * Those who run frequent teams, try and pick up new players and faces and get them involved more in team play. This isn't exactly easy since some players are set that you are cheating, but it's our job to show them we are not and get them involved in more team oriented playing. Whether a actual team or a pickup. Pugging can and should be enjoyable, but lately it just isn't. You either get a team or a pop with 3/5 or have a 5/5 with 2-3 afkers or suicide players. (something really needs to be done about this on cryptics END!)

    * Giving players advice (whether wanted or not) can plant seeds for later improvement. Think of all the times someone has told you something but you really didn't get it. Then the lights turn on.

    * If you have a full team, have a teammate sit out or maybe split your team up so you can pickup with newer players. Show them that good teammates make good games.

    Cheers!
