Please Buff "Older" Retrofits (Excelcior)

I recently bought the Excelcior refit becuase I absolutely love the ship. However, I used to fly an Odyssey and find that even with the same mods my Excelcior has about half the shields that the odyssey had.

Please the slots are almost the same, the level almost identical yet the refit is MUCH, MUCH weaker than the other 50 equivalents. I am not asking for a buff to the ship per se, but rather a reduction in the hit that it takes when equipping high level devices (Such as a Mk XII shield array).

There is no reason for such a huge debuff to be attributed to a ship that I paid 2000 zen for just to find it is arbitrarily assinged a -50% to all modules (or whatever). Please reconsider this debuff to ships that I bought in good faith from the zen store.

Thank you.

It would be nice to have such a buff but the reason behind it iis that it is an RA ship not a VA however I find it outperforms my oddy (running the same build) in every way.

I would like a VA fleet version with an extra sci or tac console and the standard fleet boosts, maybe even the universal ensign to go with it :)

    One word:

    Yes.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

I just bought it too, was pumped when I found out the extra power didn't take up a console slot, but now that means I could have just waited for the fleet version. When it gets a fleet version it will compete with the odyssey.

It was buffed, people abused it and they nerfed it again. Read the initial patch notes for season 6, it was a superior to the Oddy. I was flying the Excelsior, they just need to release a Fleet version of the ship.

Actually it was a bug when season 6 hit. It was accidently buffed. They nerfed it because it was a bug, not because of some abuse.

First the Galaxy VA most be buffed (realy buffed not the joke of fleet version) is more iconic and most powerfull than the excelcior but not in this game  never understend why

I consider the Cardassian Galor to be the fleet version of the Excelsior.

The normal Galaxy is more powerful than the normal Excelsior.

If things stay as they are now it will never get a fleet version because of the bonus transwarp destinations.

If they are so worried about people getting a free power, what I would wish they would do is develope some system to where you can only buy these special ships fleet versions if you actually own the c-store versions.

I would love to see a fleet gal-x (with more tac mmph) and a guramba fleet version but as of right now because they have a console independent power that isn't going to happen.

Sorry, but that is what it is: a Galor.

I'd like the "Olde Lady" get her boost => Fleet/Retrofit Advanced Heavy Cruiser for President!!!
    Being here since 2011 Spring

    1st sry for mi english.

Dont want to sound disrespect but they are a T3 ship (excelcior normal) vs a T4 (galaxy) can not be compared.

im talking about T5 excelcior and T5 galaxy,
    http://www.stowiki.org/Advanced_Heavy_Cruiser_Retrofit
    http://www.stowiki.org/Exploration_Cruiser_Retrofit

there i dont see why a more older ship get more tac Boff and Tac consoles than a more recent tecnology flag ship, and dont forget the turn rate.

I do, They were build at different times under different circumstances and with different purposes, it just so happens the Excelsiors circumstances and purpose were better suited to the game

The turn rate buff is easy to explain, smaller things are easier to move.

The tac buff is a bit different, but it makes sense in Cryptic's general rule of 'smaller packs a bigger punch,' i.e. the bug, the defiant class.

And if it makes you feel any better, the fleet galaxy has much stronger shields, hull, and console numbers compared to the Excelsior retrofit.

I'd like to +1 and add my voice to the call for a Fleet Excelsior Retrofit (and Fleet Sovvie Refit too while we're at it).

Tks for ur explanation and patience, i see why i cant understand crytic idea of trek tecnology, plus others post i was reading today i have a more global idea what cryptic think, and i can see why this is so far from my general concepts.

We can talk for months but this will no change the way cryptic made this game. Any way this the most close to a Star trek i have for play but is so far away from the expectations what some of mi friends and mi self have.

some things like the idea of cryptic like "smaller things have big punch" sound really funny = explanation the defiant is small because is a war ship designed for figth the borg in a hit and run tactic this ship dont need (and dont have extend scie stations social areas suplies for extended misions like any standart starfleet ship) have a focus front weapons yes for the hit and run tactics the only real tactic it can use, it cant siege a planet or hold a blockade. is small because have the minimal setup propulsion defences and weapons same concept for the jem hadar bug ship.

The real reason of why ship turn slow is : the are ppl inside of the ship the inertial dampeners have they limits ( u can see this in some Tng episodes but i can remember a episode of Enterpise were the Nx-01 figth a drone ther u see the drone made all kinds of crazy maneuvers because it has not to worry to keep alive any crew) but cryptic think is because of the sise of the ship .

Any way tks for u time bro u really helpme to see what cryptic was thinking when made this game

i only hope some day some DEV go back and check the suricatas revamp idea that will made this game have a new fresh air and gain more fun

I mostly agree with you, out side of what we see in the show, it would make more sense for the bigger ships to do more damage, but that would make escorts useless.

My personal take on the issue involves the laws of conservation of energy, when theres less overall ship to power, and the distance in-between the power source and weapon is smaller, there is less wasted energy along the way, making the weapons stronger.

Making cruisers have a more game proper Dps
    Would not hurt escorts

    Cruisers would still
    Accelerate slow
    Turn slow
    And be slow

Escorts would have speed and maneuverability

Cryptic could buff escorts defense at speed 10 or 15%
    if they needed it

It seems the devs have a escort complex and
A very healthy Anti battleship complex

It's costing them a LOT of money I'n poor cruiser
Sales because the majority of star trek fans are pro
Cruiser and didn't even know what a tactical escort was
    Until they got this game

Maybe they will smarten up when they realize just how
Much money there losing treating cruisers like trash I'n
    The Dps department
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
