Has anyone else noticed that the VA retrofit ships have lower shield mods than their standard versions?
I can list a few here
Research science vessel
CMDR: 1.3
VA: 1.1
Science vessel
Lt CMDR: 1.3
VA: 1.01
The captain ones have the same mods and the RA ones are upgraded, I think a dev should look at this, I hope it's just a typo in the description but it certainly isn't logical that a better ship should have a worse shield stat.
Same seems to go for escorts
Escort
Lt CMDR: 0.9
VA: 0.7
And cruisers follow the same principle also
Heavy cruiser
CMDR: 1
VA:0.85
This really needs looking into as there is no logical way these figures can be right
It's not logical, but fortunately some really smart people made as much sense out of it as possbiel.
Just read the last page of this thread and you'll see;
The shield modifier affect natural shield regen, but all those retrofits get bonus to their shield hps. I actually own most of the lower retrofits, and their shielding is superior in terms of hps.
Fleet nova is most likely the most shafted ship here, as the shield regen is cut to like 1/3 compared to regular fleet science ship with 1,43 mod.
The cruiser on the other got the best values.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”
