I played around 15-20 pvp games over the last few days before and after the update. Ive not played pvp for a long while due to how much it used to frustrate me and upon returning to pvp i remembered why i found it so infuriating.
im aware lots of people rant about things in the game that wont ever change but, the purpose of my post it more to find out if i am sharing the same thoughts as most people out there both fed and kdf.
Each game i played (not including the last game i played) the game ended 0-15 with the klingons winning in around 3-4 minutes. I understand they need the cloak, i am a huge fan of star trek and would not see the klingons any other way, baring in mind i also have 4 klingons characters. The cloak must stay, however, in the last game i played it was four fed players vs 5 klingons. the klingons played poorly as a team and the score came to 5-0 to the feds.
4 of the klingons quit, the last one cloaked and stayed cloaked for more than 10 minutes until we all quit.
its just a bad joke, the second we do well and star to win, they just cloak and hide
does anyone grap mask energy signature just so they can do the same thing?
There are lots of science ships Fedside that can break a Klink's cloak, in an AoE no less. This is even easier if you know just where they cloaked.
I don't think the game you're speaking of had much to do with Klinks/Feds, probably far more to do with terrible players who were used to facerolling and lost interest the minute they had to exert themselves.
I've seen it happen a lot with people in the siphon clownfish when I bring out my anti-spam repellent

I've always found it to be very satisfying to simply remove a siphon carrier from combat and let my TBRs continuously kill the replacement drones as they vainly try to re-exert their influence on the match. Yeah, sucks to be neutered doesn't it siphon pilots?

yeh youre right, im aware there is AoE cloak detection and attack patterns which reduce stealth etc etc. im in a oddyssey cruiser and they are in a bop, they flew away really fast and i even had my impulse drive console thingy from the gladius inserted. i kept up for a while but once they get away they simply cloak and hide anywhere on the map. even if i caught them and killed them once they respawn they can just cloak and hide anywhere on the huge map. there isnt a single thing you can do if a klingon player wants to cloak and avoid confrontation.
i have to disagree, while im not saying all klingon players do this, i know for a fact that they do not because i play klingons. if i was the last player i wouldnt charge in i would use jungle warfare tactics, hit and run (and probably lose) but i wouldnt just hide.
feds losing 15-0 over and over though, thats also an issue that im complaining about i just wanted to know if this has been experienced by anyone else...the majority of games going to the klingons.

As a mostly KDF Q'er, feds have a huge amount of afkers and suicide runners, atm. It's absolutely abhorrent that this is allowed, has been allowed, and remains to be allowed.
That said, you could always try to get a group of carebears rolling and you may have more fun. If you have teamspeak, I can give you our info and you can team fed side with us sometime, if you would like. It's a completely different experience with some good scis/healers against knotheads ;p
This is an often-discussed topic. The truth of the matter is, when you see this happening over and over, that you have been unlucky enough to get teamed with terribad PUGs. The Feds simply have more of them because there are more fed players in general. It happens to the Klinks too (bad PUG groups), just not as often because there are fewer of them to begin with. You are almost always gonna get at least 1 or 2 KDF teammates that you have flown with before or at least trust enough to make good decisions. In STO, 1 or 2 good teammates against a bad PUG group is enough to swing the battle the way you describe.

This is so true - the number of times I join a KDF pug and instantly know 2 - 3 regulars is pretty common.
We know each other strengths and weaknesses, the latter of which I have many (Its almost rule of thumb "Qapla' warriors! All mass heal Krotar!!!"
Also most of the really great PvP enthusiasts gravitate towards the KDF because of its challenge.
I've always found it to be very satisfying to simply remove a siphon carrier from combat and let my TBRs continuously kill the replacement drones as they vainly try to re-exert their influence on the match. Yeah, sucks to be neutered doesn't it siphon pilots?
It's funny because 99.9% of them have absolutely jack squat in the way of threat or anything other than their siphons, and the Kar'fi isn't the most durable ship in the best of situations, meaning they just end up feeding like mad and contributing nothing to their team. If it were an Arena they could single-handedly lose their team the game, it's probably why so many of them won't budge from C&H.
Back in the early days KDF did not really have any content other than pvp. So you were mor ore less forced to pvp your way up to 50. That resulted in much more experience on the average KDF player.
These days things are different. But you still need a fed char first. Also there are less quests on the KDF side so you might still try to lvl a bit with pvp. While I don't think the difference is a big as it was I still have the feeling the average KDF player has more experience than the average fed.
Also there might be a disadvantage concerning ships. Now while the federation offers top escorts and sci ships it kind of lacks cruisers other than healers. The most popular ship from the shows is likely a cruiser, the enterprise.
Building a fed dmg cruiser is challenging. Most people don't want to be a healer or supporter. Most people don't even heal their teammates. So many feds sit in their cruiser, that can't support and can't do dmg and are pretty useless.
Now I sorry to hear that your enemys quit the arena. There should be a leaver penalty but I don't think there will ever be one. Most of the time I see feds quiting but there are black sheep everywhere.

I'm just glad somebody, like yourself, has come at the issue by making a anti-spam builds rather than just biotching endlessly about the drones that are slated to be fixed.
I figured a really simple solution! i only que against other fed players now, all in all it seems much more fun. in my head i just pretend they are alternate universe federation lol
i won the last 3 matches in a row. the last match was very close 15-14. Pvp seems fun again.
As a klingon waiting for pvp seems to take forever, now i see why! no wants to fight the klingons lol
Only thing evil in this thread is the fear of the KDF becuase its unfounded and causing players to lose out on part of the game.
Everytime a Fed team plays against the KDF the fight can go iether way depending on the teamwork involved and the skill of the players.
The KDF has not secret advantage or game enhanced buffs or any special "thing" that makes them better at PvP and any fed who uses such excuses to rationalize only playing FvF ques is only fooling themselves in to thinking that its more balanced.
While I mainly play KDF, sometimes I do play FvK on the Fed side too. It can be anything from 0-15 to 15-0 depending on the teams. If your pugs aren't cutting it against the other side get a team together and it should provide a more fun match for everyone. It's not much fun to be part of a stomping for either side involved.

...unfortunately we don't have the Cruisers suitable for fighting you as seen in the tv movies...Kirk simply doesn't exist in this game, period!
We fight disadvantaged, we know that in this game the best Cruisers are KDF ones, not to mention the Bop targ packs who terrorize the Fed rookies...
Its this attitude that lies at the base of the issues of teh Feds in PvP versus the KDF.
You believe your at a disadvantage before things even start and it is not true.
Nah, we Feds have no illusions of being the strongest...in this game we are the weakest...it's a matter of fact.
But our weakness makes us stronger because we always try to improve!
What exactly is this fact based on? Your opinion? Hate to break it to you, but that is not what a "fact" is.
The evil Klinguns have the most powerful cruisers, the most agile escorts and the most spamming carriers...more offensive toy consoles, advanced cloaks, DHC everywhere, extremely sucking abilities, universal Boffs...ok, that's enough!:P
KDF has more DPS oriented cruisers, yes.
KDF has the bop, which is more agile, yes, but the BoP is considerably less survivable verse any other Fed escort.
KDF has the raptor/bop (a tin can with warp nacelles) @ BG/RA.
FED has 2 options @ BG. Patrol/Fleet.
KDF LG Garumba/Brel
FED VA Tact refit, multi-vector, heavy escort.
Fed fleet - 8 options, some with 5 tact consoles.
KDF fleet - 8 options, none with 5 tact consoles or LTC anything other than tact.
KDF has 1 science ship.
Fed has a dozen options.
***Some with LTC Eng/Tact options! Highest shield mods in GAME. ECT ECT ECT ECT.
Only Science that can load cannons and a fighter bay.
KDF 2 FDCs (1 fleet/1 none) Both are solid ships but no cloak on either and they cannot load cannons.
KDF 2 carriers - karfi/Voquv. Both are decent if that's your play style.
Reasonable options to fit various gameplay styles.
Siphons - simple solution is kvk, if you see them, load them on a carrier if you have one.
Siphons - Don't use them in fvk, broeken advantage nerfed.
Fed
Cat box - never played it but similar to kdf.
escort carrier - da-noobs + tact. Not game changing but 1-2-3 people spamming 1 or 2 bays is extremely annoying whether fvf or kvf.
KDF ships have less/same shields and maybe slightly less/more/same (vorcha) hull, but most are slower/same as fed counterparts. Only advantage is the cloak and DHCs but DHCs on a cruiser other than the vorcha is worthless against most escort, sci, cruiser pilots since CRF1/Dem is the only real threat but the CDs are extremely long. Only except is the fleet vorcha.
KDF has KHG which is a great shield if you have high tier shield heals. The placate is the only other advantage but trivial at game end. I prefer a capx3 resilient or omega over KHG.
Fed has MACO. Extra power, resilient, 10% resist to all energy types.
Each side has a unique, but not a game changing difference. The general quality of federation players is the issue. Instead of trying to improve their gameplay they b!@#$ about battle cloaks, fatter ships that turn worth a $#%& running cannons, ect ect.
Hate to be a negative Nancy, but instead of crying about KDF in everyone of your post, maybe consider you could learn a few things, team with a better group... idk... It seems to be if you find the average fvf more challenging/fun, perhaps you have your bar a little too low to be complaining about more seasoned players on the KDF side???
That said, I played my silly feds last night, matches were all a walk in the park. Boring!
Only had 1 good match in fvf and even then it wasn't very challenging. My exploration healer which still has 2/3 rare/uncommon doffs, was rarely in trouble of dying. Even when under fire from the other teams 2 or 3 bug ships.
The only other match that was half decent was a kvk /w 2 from SOB (bug/bop,) a galor and recluse with AAs, AMS, and probably some other random things. However, even losing our only source of heals (toward the end of) the match was 15/6.
Anyone stating that the game is balanced is a fool. Not to sound too harsh but you are. the only way to play the game as close to being balance is to fight against the same faction. i disagree with a lot that is being said here, i am almost always in a team that seems to fight until the bitter end and 99% of the time the KDF win 15-0. i dont know if it is possible to show the official statistics but i would literally place my testicles on the line in a bet that the kdf win a hell of a lot more than the feds.
i play both kdf and fed and when i play as kdf in pvp i have an easy time in almost any ship. i sit there and shoot, no tactics just shoot. as a fed player you have to spam every boff ability to stay alive.
again people are fooling themselves if they think that kdf players are just naturally more skilled at pvp just because of kdf content, that is rubbish. i would bet that most fed players also have klingon characters and vise versa.
if you seriously think that it is balanced then im not sure that you understand what the word actually means. but as i stated i only pvp queue against feds now and it is a hell of a lot more fun.
i hope this catches on so that the constant unfair rapage stops.
i think that one of the most fun aspects of the game, however, is to sit in a bop at kerrat cloaked and pray on poor fed cruisers even when outnumbered 4 feds to 1 klingon because you can almost always get away alive just after a kill. so much fun lol

Misinformation much?
Fact is, most fed players that Q fvk (not all of course,) don't use tact team, don't use epts, run into battle with RSP up.... And yeah I'm suppose to believe that KDF ships kill them only because the ships are OP and some can battle cloak???
And OH NOE! Battle cloaking tin cans! Wait for them to decloak. Little secret, a bop has almost no shield power for a few seconds after decloaking... sshhh. Only the kdf knows this so don't tell your fed comrades!

Lay them up and they will be smashed.
The KDF players are not OP compared to the Feds. It is a lie that has grown to be accepted as truth by those feds whom feel that we are OP becuase they do not do well against us more often than they would like.
i play both kdf and fed and when i play as kdf in pvp i have an easy time in almost any ship. i sit there and shoot, no tactics just shoot. as a fed player you have to spam every boff ability to stay alive.
I do the same thing when I slum it and play my Tac in a Defiant-R. So by this the feds are OP becuase its too easy to tank, kill and just plain PvP as a fed when I do so.
again people are fooling themselves if they think that kdf players are just naturally more skilled at pvp just because of kdf content, that is rubbish. i would bet that most fed players also have klingon characters and vise versa.
And they are fooling themselves if they believe the feds are at a disadvantage in PvP.

Which is fine. Have fun.
i hope this catches on so that the constant unfair rapage stops.
LOL- thats why FvF was invented back when the Klingon where a little OP and all we had to do was PvP. The feds cried and the FvF que was born.
i think that one of the most fun aspects of the game, however, is to sit in a bop at kerrat cloaked and pray on poor fed cruisers even when outnumbered 4 feds to 1 klingon because you can almost always get away alive just after a kill. so much fun lol
Do it in a Defiant-R, and you will not have to leave after the first kill.
The KDF is not OP, though we do have our advantages just like the feds have thiers to seperate the gameplay some. Otherwise only the vessels are different and not by much.
The feds get better escorts and we KDF get better Battle Cruisers, but even then it can vary as many fed Cruisers are very good and the new fleet Raptors help the KDF escort defficiency. We have Siphon Drones and the feds have Danubes.
We both have access to cloaking.
After that there is no difference as all the powers are the same across the board for Players to use according to thier class.
I have done some PvP on both sides, and I do notice this:
When I queue up for FvK-whether as a Klingon or a Fed, it takes forever for the queue to pop. And when it does, the Klingons typically end up the winners. I am not saying that this is because Klingon ships/equipment are overpowered; far from it.
What I do notice is that many, if not most, of the Feds who queue up for FvK are inexperienced, to say the least. Even if I choose to decloak and stay out of the battle for a while, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I would think that they are fresh from blasting their way through PvE and story, where Klingons are some of the weaker opponents. This, for some reason, carries over to their PvP. They assume that the Klingon players are weak. Then, when they get stomped, few, if any, come back.
I do understand their feelings. Coping with decloaking alpha strikes, which are the mainstay of Klingon initial encounters, requires fast reflexes and, preferably, a good knowledge of defense and counters, which most new players simply do not have. PvE does not develop this ability. Even then, taking a fully buffed alpha from two or more decloaking Klingon ships tears my escort to bits.
Quite simply, it is the difference in communities that is the main reason why FvK queues tend to be somewhat one-sided. I rarely notice good Fedside players joining the FvK queue, but when I do, I celebrate. Honestly, pugstomping isn't fun at all, whichever side you're on.
