I'm having this crashing problem too. It seems to be a graphics problem. Before Season 7 I rarely ever crashed, but now it's pretty often. The crashes range from about 10 minutes of gameplay to about an hour or so. I too would like cryptic to look into this problem and see what change they introduced that started this issue.
STO has become unplayable for me because of constant graphics crashes since Season 7 was introduced.
Post up your system specs and General locations and also internet connection type/speed.
Not saying it couldn't be something on the server side, but the only way to track down the problem if it's the same problem with multiple users is to track down if it's a problem on user side or server side.

COMPUTER SPECS:
AMD X6 core processor
32 gig ram
1tb hd (.5 tb freespace)
AMD Radeon 7650 HD graphics card
AMD Graphics Driver 13.1
Windows 7 64-bit
LOCATION AND CONNECTION SPECS:
Location East Coast USA
Cable model 10+ mbs speed
(PS: I've got this subbed on instant e-mail notification so I'll try to help asap)
Dell 580
4gig RAM
Intel i3 graphic card
Windows 8 Pro
On both servers, Live and Tribble
On Tribble I was playing "For Bajor" disabling the sensors on DS9
and on the Live server I was playing "War is Good for Business"
I don't know if this is a fix or what but I found a way to "bypass" the issue.
This is what I did. I started STO as a window, then I maximized the window. I have not yet had any issue like I was having, I'll let you know if anything happens
Ok, good things don't last. I got through the scenario I was playing, "War is Good for Business", but when I started the next level this is what happened.
The screen blinked, good thing there were not weeping angels here, then the screen darkened the got bright, then it got dark then bright again. Then the game started up with the blinking again. Wish is would make up its mind.
The game's still crashing on me. Constantly. I keep checking back after every new patch to see if cryptic has fixed the problem, but haven't seen any improvement. Heck, I haven't seen them even *acknowledge* that there IS as problem. I like sto alot, but I can't play it like this. All because season 7 messed graphics compatibility up for my system. Ugh!

It has been acknowledged here, but Cryptic seems to be saying that Intel should fix the problem and that it isn't STO's fault.
Graphical issue, image freezes (whether in menu or in game - it's random and can range from couple minutes to about 10 mins before it freezes).
Sound is still there as if the game is running but the image remains frozen.
Spec:
Windows 8 Pro
intel core i7 4.6ghz processor
8gb corsair vengence RAM
2 x nvidia 295 gtx gpu's in SLI
Sandisk 240GB SSD (OS and Application installed on this drive)
This is a fresh install of the OS and the game. A previous fresh install also had the same issues. (same exact spec).
STO has been unplayable for me for about 2 months now.
