    Thanks for that! VERY handy.
Looks like EDCs are the favoured item in conversion.
350 EDC alone gets a good chunk (like 80%) of me turning in around 500+ edc, 100 proto salvage, 40 rare salvage and 20 proto techs. (off the top of my head gets me about 4500 omega, 15BNP, 26k dil) I'll post my exact conversion inputs and outputs later when I can get back in game.

There's a conversion tool? Where can I access it?

    A couple of posts up

    602 EDCs
    9 Prototype tech
    10 Rare tech

    gets converted to

4000 Omega Marks, 18 BNP and 16k dil.

Seems like salvages are best to sell off for dil.

Looks like they lifted the 15 BNP hard limit.

Since we've recently increased the cost in Neural Processors necessary to purchase items, we've just increased the number of Neural Processors that will be allotted to players in the conversion. You'll be getting approximately (but not exactly) twice as many as you're seeing on Tribble right now. Numbers are still in flux.

So twice of 7 is...8? That's what my boxes are telling me.

How does that make any sense?

Putting my numbers in the converter does not reflect what I have on Tribble..

Ok so explain this one to me. I have so much STF loot b/c I have been trying since season 5 to get the damn proto PSG. I do 2 runs tonight of IGE and I get it both times. This is after complaining on here about the drop rate and submitting a bug report too lol. I think the drop rates were tweaked in this last patch.

I must agree, I got TWO prototype tech today, maybe it's just pure luck, but I got an Engine for one toon, and a Shield for another.

Yesterday during KA day, I got a Prototype Armor for a toon who needed it, and one or two Rare armor techs, also for toons that needed it.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

The drop rates weren't tweaked. I've been trying my best to get a couple of my fleetmates their final set pieces before this conversion. Though congratulations on your good fortune.

    OMG.

    Before

    BNP 15

After the supposed twice as many!

    BNP 22

So I only got 7 extra BNP. That is only 1.46 times the amount before, and is no way near twice, it is in fact closer to 1 than 2. What a rip off. You would have thought that with the 15th coming they would be bending over backwards to keep players happy, even sweetening the pot. Not really a good business strategy you currently have Cryptic, is it!

Well sod this. There is nothing in Season 7 but grind, and the new content is just grind missions. What is the point of playing grind missions if 6 months latter you take the stuff away. I've been playing STO for nearly 3 years and had hoped to play until its end. Well when season 7 hits I will be spending most of my time and all my spare money in a Galaxy Far Far Away. :P

Can any of you math geniuses tell me approximetly how much a Prototype Tech is worth compared to EDCs?

If you mean OM:BNP:Ore 1EDC will equal 1 proto tech.

Yes that's correct unless the 'tweak' has suddenly given us what we want, wihch it won't. Unless Cryptic do something drastic everyone would be better ofdf converting everything to Ore.

Then when the dilithium market gets over the shock of the excess dilithium, Cryptic will go "oh look there's too much dilithium lying around, let's tax/add another sink, raise costs/remove ways or not make new ways of getting dilithium."

Those that did convert and/or have large reserves way well be okay for a while providing no more currency conversions. Those with little/no dilithium will get screwed as they'll have no reserves to fall back on and harder means of getting what they want.

I already have. I converted all my tech etc leaving a few edc and salvage over.

Means I wont have to grind for Dilithium for a while ;)

They already have by removing the quick to complete foundry missions from the daily officer report mission. When i tried them on tribble the romulan pve missions (vault and azure nebula) didnt grant dilithium either meaning if you want to grind romulan rep its going to be a lot harder than grinding omega rep (stfs do grant dilithium at a reduced rate).

    Toon 1
    547 EDCs
    105 Proto salvage
    24 Prototype tech
    53 Rare salvage

    gets converted to
4500 Omega Marks, 20 BNP and 24k dil.

I go from being able to buy 24 set piece parts to less than 5.
Looks like I'll be selling off for dilithium most of it.

    Toon 2
    89 EDCs
    3 Proto salvage
    2 Prototype tech
    7 Rare salvage

    gets converted to
2000 Omega Marks, 10 BNP and 2k dil.

I have not seen anything official anyways. By that I mean no post or dev blog stating that those will be included or converted at all.

I could be wrong, If someone else knows please do tell?

Updated conversion from yesterday's TRIBBLE patch (along with a few loot changes on Holodeck):

    Antilles:
    Loot:
    • 1 EDC, 1 Rare Salvage
    Converts to:
    • 250 Omega marks, 2 Neural Processor.
    Rygo:
    Loot:
    • 11 EDCs
    Converts to:
    • 1000 Omega marks, 6 Neural Processors.
    Omega:
    Loot:
    • 15 EDCs, 3 Rare Salvage
    Converts to:
    • 1000 Omega Marks, 6 Neural Processors.
    Illusion:
    Loot:
    • 1 EDC
    Converts to:
    • 250 Omega marks, 2 Neural Processors.

Tiered conversion strikes again... 3 Rare Salvage and 5 EDCs are worthless.

Here's what I started with on my hardcore grinder:
    451 Encrypted Data Chips
    82 Rare Borg Salvage
    50 Prototype Borg Salvage
    3 Rare Borg Shield Tech
    8 Rare Borg Engine Tech
    2 Rare Borg Deflector Tech
    2 Rare Borg Armor Tech
    2 Rare Borg Weapon Tech

    On Tribble this coverts to:
    4000 Omega Marks
    18 Borg Neuro Processors
    16000 Dilithium Ore.

If I went to DS9 to turn it into Dilithium now I'd get... 267264 Dilithium ore.

Just transfered a toon across to tribble to see what's going to be delivered on Tuesday and compare what I could get for it now. Hiding in my bank is :
    1 Proto tech
    13 Proto salvage
    16 Rare tech
    20 Rare salvage
    1 Common tech
    120 EDC

    Which converts into :
    3000 Omega marks
    14 Processors
    4000 Dilithium

At the minute will convert to 84,000 Dilithium, so 3000 marks & 14 processors = 80,000 Dilithium. That's not taking the p*** it's taking the whole sewage system.

So what did everyone else get?

Well all of that stuff it doesn't give enough to produce one piece of XII gear, considering there the is proto space tech that's not on.
Just looking at the tech items, ignoring salvage and edc's, to construct all of those in S7 it will take :
    11,625 Omega Marks
    10 Neural Processers
    301,000 Dilithium
    768,000 Expertise

Now I wouldn't totally object to a small depreciation with the conversion, because there is a flexibility gained from moving to the new system, BUT the conversion including the salavage & edc's will cost me 75% of the OM required, 98.7% of the Dilthium required, 100% of the Expertise required. OK so there's a 40% gain on Procesors but that hardly balances out overall.
If it was 10% cut I could live with that, but this is closer to a 80% cut which is taking the TRIBBLE.
