Omega Conversion crates rates

Since I didn't see one of these up already.

Let's post your crate worth plus what the orginal values you had on holodeck were. Let's see if the math types can figure out the formula. As far as TTS can tell there's tiered levels.

I did two character copies to see.

#1-
2 rare armor, 1 rare psg, 163 edc, 39 rare salvage, 37 proto salvage.
Recived 3000 Omega marks, 13 BNPs, 4000 dilith ore

2 rare armor, 2 rare psg, 208 edc, 40 rare salvage, 46 proto salvage

    You must have a typo in there or two.

    You got the exact same result for clearly different starting values! :rolleyes::eek:

    nope. no typo there. according to the patch notes, the conversion crates are on a tiered system. thus, it is working as intended. you're better off converting it all into dil ore now and grinding the marks later.

    (I converted a tonne of tech and salvage earlier this week).
    If traded in for dilithium in S6 I will make 95328 Dilithium

    2000 Omega Marks
    2000 Dilithium
    9 Borg Neural Processors

    The conversion rate is total bull**** and I will be trading my tech in for dilithium.

    So after doing some research on the Omega Reputation store costs, I'm pretty irritated:

    1 piece of Mk XII set gear costs 500 marks and 10 processors. One of my conversion crates chewed up 3 prototype shield techs (among other things), and only gave 11 processors. That is nowhere near the same buying power I have now. I get that it's a tiered system, but prototype techs need to be converting into somewhere near what it costs to buy a Mk XII set piece, or we are getting ripped off.

    This is not too dissimilar from one of my characters.

    I can't actually get onto tribble, or holodeck due the current patch issue.

    But it looks like this is a fairly bad conversion in that, yes you get a lot of marks - but you lose out on potentially a huge amount of other resources.

    Your rare and proto salvage alone would be nearly 140-150,000 dilithium (just eyeballing it).

    At this point, now that all the gear and fleet gear, and basically any other endgame gear costs dilithium - the smarter approach will be to cash in all your items now.


    3000 marks sounds great, except marks are not nearly as valuable a resource as dilithium and only have 1 sink.

    On top of this, you can't actually access those marks until T3 in the rep system.


    Unless something suddenly changes, and I'm not holding my breath, I'll be turning in all my items before S7 goes live.

    I just did an STF run that gave me 2 Rare Salvage and 2 EDCs and I re-transferred my character and there was no change in DL, Omega Marks, and Neural Processors.... :eek:

    Wow thats err. Not good. People are only getting avfew dill for hours of grind. Ok im converting to dill today. Ive only got a few chips and rares but even for a few bits i get more dill than they are offering. Not good.

    Can someone tell me. Are the figures above for those who played on the tribble server or is this conversion rate for all of us holo players when S7 goes live?

    not worth the crate tbh when i see the release im selling all my gear into dilithium only coz of the fact that were running four systems now the embassy starbase and the personal two you do

    Sounds like the first "tier" of conversion you get a rather decent rate but the diminishing returns hit fast and hard.

    Thats what i thought. I cant see them changing it much. Probby still best to convert to dill then work the mark grind.

    These are from the Tribble Server. I transferred a new copy of my toon just after the latest tribble patch.

    or roughly 154963.2 dilithium now. That hardly seems like a fair conversion at all. Looks like every one was right not to trust Cryptic again. Just one excuse after another for a change that we really didn't need or want.


    This is what my total was from the conversion, so needless to say i'm less than happy and i'm going to be converting it all to dilithium tonight. It's a joke that all the grinding people have already done is being reduced to a joke and then locked away to make them grind for more.

    Honestly...after the exploration marks and emblem fiasco did anyone expect different?

    I would expect perhaps some minor tweaking done to the conversion rate, but by and large from what people are posting it is a tremendous hit to what they have already accumulated. Anyone would be foolish not to convert that to dilithium NOW rather than wait for the fruits of your work to be marginalized.
