B'rels in Ker'rat

I will admit this now, I LOVE being in my B'rel and flying around in Ker'rat, flying always cloaked, sneaking up on even the most aux-heavy sci ships without being seen...most of the time. Using trics in torpedo and mine form, along with chroniton torpedoes and the Bio neural Warhead.

I believe as some might say, I am an 'evil Klingun', and I'm proud. :D

See you in Ker'rat. ;)

I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

    I see.

Well, what's done is done I suppose, can't really change it now. I was just really saying how much I enjoyed being on a B'rel in Ker'rat.

That aside, I did think that most folks here wouldn't like that I did so anyways.

Oh I didn't mean it in any cruel way, I just thought it was kinda funny because honestly you don't even see that much of the classic B'rel any more.

It's true, not many B'rels around the galaxy anymore these days. Seems most people think it won't survive against all those new fed toys (which on paper are alot better than any BoP), but I think the B'rel or BoPs in general are still a viable option for KDF Tacs, despite having only 6 weaponslots and 3 tactical consoles.

I switched back to my B'rel yesterday after flying a Jem'Hadar Bug for months and a Tohr'Kat battlecruiser for like a week. It was glorious, both in Kerrat and regular PvP. Damage overall is alot lower than I used to have in my Jem Bug, but if set up right it's alphastrikes still hit hard enough to blow up any fed ship in seconds and it's turnrate an speed is fantastic. I use the B'rel with a pure energy build with drain components (tetryon glider, polarized disruptor, plasmonic leech) at the moment, but I might try a torpboat in the next days.

Ah, alright, maybe I oughta stop posting quite so late on the ole forums then, makes me tend to misunderstand thing quite often.

Though you are right, there aren't as many B'rels around anymore.

I'm using mine with a science character, but even so, it is a tremendous amount of fun, and might put my Tac in one as well (thank you VA tokens), either as a torp boat or a normal DHC, turret combo, maybe switch between both.

And honestly, Fed toys are just that, toys. I play both sides of the game, and while I enjoy toys sometimes, nothing can beat the feeling of watching somebody get hit with 4 tric mines and go boom, all while remaining cloaked. Plus, all those toys have long cooldowns, and my tric mines don't quite such a long time to wait.

Well though, I don't pick favorites in Ker'rat. I just find a target, and try to bring em down, or get brought down. If you're just a random person there, or part of a big PvP fleet, it's all equal in my eyes. So, equal and fair treatment to all. :D

Ker'Rat is great also from the other perspective. Get nebula, stack sensors, scan and whack the hiding B'rels

Maybe because in current state of STO the ship is not competitive ? I'm already gimping myself by refusing to use RSP...no need to gimp me further... :P

Minimax reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons. He either rolls absolute success, or complete disaster. :D

Zirac and Minimax are two awesome (but always evil!) Klinguns who know very well how to fight in a Bop, but their combat style is different.
Zirac is like a surgeon, very cold and accurate he plans to perfection his alpha attack and when in trouble doesn't hesitate to disengage from the battlefield.
Minimax instead seems a kamikaze, very aggressive he continues on fighting till the vaporization of the target, but sometimes exaggerates and ends up being destroyed.
It's really fascinating to see them in action and I never hit them at Ker'rat when they are struggling as a sign of respect, even though I am one of their favorite targets.
Two very skilled players, two terrific Bops, two very evil Klinguns!:D

Yeah, I've teamed up with Zirac using a build and tactics similar to his. The two of us working together are pretty darn effective.

The key thing is not being afraid to run away when things get rough. Hit the target, maybe do another strafing run or two, and then escape and enter cloak. Then set up another attack run and do it again when the time is ripe. Timing is crucial.

I've been known to harass a specific target for minutes on end, just strafing them, running off and cloaking, and then strafing again 20-30 seconds later. It's fun to toy with 'em :)

I admit, ever since I began doing all this in Ker'rat, I tend to royally tick off the Feds after awhile, to the point several folks tend to team up and focus on finding me.

It makes this 'evil Klingun' grin with joy at knowing I'm so important to need to have so many searching for me, as I continue the hunt. :D

Yeah, I've been known to attract the ire of Fed escorts operating within a group. I find that if I harass a Fedball enough, one of the escorts will make a point to immediately start hammering me when I decloak to alpha-strike. Such special attention is flattering :P
