Does anyone else find it insulting when we're told we're getting new content?

Seriously, at this point of time in the game I feel it almost as mocking the KDF, not intentionally I'm sure (at least I hope so), but it just comes off to me as "here's a little food for your dog bowl".

It's almost like an abusive boyfriend that keeps getting his girlfriend to come back by telling her that he's change, only to be nice for a couple of days and then go right back to the neglect and abuse.

I just feel the KDF has been slapped in the face one too many times (certain times a lot more obvious than others).

Also, if the KDF are to be joined with the Feds(Which I am really against) I think cross faction ships should be the ultimate grind-for ships, meaning it should take a Fed about a year to get a KDF ship - I'm not joking either, they should have to do so much work that it almost discourages them to do it.

    Supposedly, KDF will be getting an Overhaul in S8 with Lv 1 Stories, a Tutorial, etc. But I will believe it when I see it.

    Slapping in the face builds character ;) Any real Klingon doesn't let it get under his/her skin

    But seriously, this is a much less serious case than the abusive boyfriend example. Cryptic overpromises anyway, whether they deliver something or fall short... which is exactly why waiting and seeing is best.

    If you're expecting something, there's no disappointment if it falls short, and no harm done. If something comes though and you didn't expect it, it's a pleasant surprise.

    My two cents (though I find 'slap in the face' to be VERY overused and annoying on that account, personally)
    Was named Trek17.

    Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

    I don't find it "insulting" per say...I just take it with a grain of salt.

    Hopefully they'll come through this time.

    Wrong. Its starts exactly with the Cryptic Devs.

    When the Devs (or in this case Cryptic owner) state that, " If the players want it, we will make it for them" and in the recent case of Dstahl stating, " Season 8 is going to have some focus on the KDF...", those are implied promises that what they state will happen and when it does not happen those statements are broken.

    So I wait to see if S8 actually has some focus on the KDF and if it does not happen, I consider the Devs to have broken a promise.

    If I say to you, " I will meet you in three days with a cold beer to quech your thirst." and then do not show up, I have broken a promise. Same thing here.

    If S8 arrives and we KDF get content that moves us toward our desires, will you stop the trolling of KDF threads looking to combine the factions?

    Yes I 100% will, but hopefully they will also release a decent c-store KDF ship that I can buy to use in this new season or I will cosider it a bust.

    I will believe it when it is there. Before that I won't believe anything Stahl or any of his minions say concerning KDF progression.

    look i no everyone's annoyed about not getting the content you desire for kdf but you need to be patient yeah the contents TRIBBLE now but what if you leave and never comeback and during that time they bring some amazing content out then what you gonna do

    your gonna feel bad so learn to accept it and to be patient

    yeah i know but all im say is all kdf player who moan about how there not being treated right is exactly what cryptic wants they want you to leave kdf and move to fed to make it much easier on them

    i say stop moan and be patient so they don't get a rise out of kdf players :)

    cause i mean im just as annoyed as you bout lack of content

    the KDF has been continuously shafted at every turn , they're well within their rights to moan

    patience is a finite resource , it runs out very quickly .

    yeah and actually , i think the fact that cryptic devs have acknowledged and ( finally ) look to be doing something about this ,that throwing the cuddly targ out of the enclosure is working

    hell , the die hard feds need a carrier people that moaned for ages got what they wanted , so why cant the KDF

    Mr Stahl said these words about making future KDF c-store ships "They are NOT economically viable"

    that is directly from the man running things.

    not as much as i have in the past , when i do play its mostly fleet stuff on my fed , but what has that got to do with me wanting more kdf content ?
    you seriously suggesting that if the 1-20 leveling is sorted out , and people able to select them from the start that more wont play them ?

    I asked how much you played KDF - not STO.

    Every day I make 2 runs on 3 KDF toons from DS9 to Qo'nos and back - doffing.

    Every day I see less and less ships around Klingon sector space - hell some days I see almost as many FED ships in Klingon space as KDF. I see less and less in orbit, and I see less and less on the ground in first city and the academy.

    KDF players are gone - and I think Cryptic must be noticing these numbers in their metrics as well.

    I just don't see how Mr Stahl can make a Business case to his boss - PWE and then in turn their shareholders to invest in a faction that is disappearing.

    havent played my orion in a good long while , primarily for the reasons many other people with KDF chars have , i dont see why its so wrong to want more content for them
    if the content is added , the players will come . its not so simple as saying , theres no players , so no content anymore . and hopefully s8 will finally do something positive about it , simply merging the factions would be a cop out and would ultimately result in doing far more harm than good

    See this is why my opinion on the state and viability of the KDF differs from yours - I have my KDF 'boots on the ground" as it were - at least 2 hrs a day - 7 days a week for at least the last 10 months.

    you can surely see though , lots of KDF players would outright quit if your idea of merging factions went ahead
    thats not to say they all would , but a lot of the more prolific ones would be long gone

    And a lot will be gone if season 8 rolls around and just like the prior 7 season - nothing substatial happens accept for a few chewed on bones tossed their way.

    yes , but this is the first time to my knowledge that the devs have mentioned on a upcoming blog that they going to fix it

    I am sure hawk could find somthing to dig up that would refute your statement.
