On-Ship Missions

Hello,
I have a suggestion for future Seasons.

On-Ship Missions.
These Missions are furfilled by the Captain on his own Vessel (i.e. Maintenance, Training etc.).
What do you all think of this idea?

like to see some form of on ship missions. I'm not really into TOS/Voyager/TNG
but I'm a big Enterprise/DS9 fan and while DS9 doesn't have many 'ship based' episodes for obvious reasons, much of enterprise involves the crew confronting alien species or anomolies on their OWN vessel.

What'd be really good is a few (3-5) different missions which are unlocked with each sort of ship you can get. It'd definitely improve my likelihood of shelling out for zen for ships if there where further missions involved.

I feel like any on-ship missions would inevitably be basically the same kind of thing as the exploration cluster missions. "Go bring me 50 warp coils, captain!"

Maybe they could add something like this to DOff missions, make it optional but give better reward. I might actually do them if there was some kind of participation in the mission on my part. As it is now I have no interest in DOff missions that don't let the player participate in them at all and have been at rank 1 or 0 in all commendations for over a year now. I'd like to have a reason to try ranking them up, so tying this in with DOff system would be nice.

It would be really cool to personally confiscate contraband from crew members, then owning any of the idiots that try to resist and being able to get bonus contraband due to participating in the mission instead of just letting your doffs handle it on their own.

Or doff science missions could have a computer terminal puzzle minigame that goes along with it, so you are helping to scan and analyze results.

That would be cool! And I'd like to see further ship customization. What's the point of your quarters if you can't decorate them the way your Captain likes it? Ready rooms? It'd also be cool if you could hear your officers talk to you instead of just seeing their avitar.

A lot of Trek episodes took place almost entirely within the ship's interior, which is the one area of content that is totally lacking... no official content and nothing very usable within the Foundry.

You can build a ship mission in the Foundry, but not very easily and not with your existing ship interior. It's a kludge. There are no ready-made Engine Rooms, no good selection of various Bridges, no suitable deck layouts for cruisers/escorts/science for each faction, etc.

There are no Cryptic-made missions that occur within the ship's interior, and this is a crying shame.

Every single ship interior should have the turbolift as a possible mission "door".

I've been asking for this sort of thing from about a week after I started playing. Things like repelling boarders, freeing the ship from being trapped in an anomaly, or an Engineering disaster that has to be identified and repaired.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

I love the idea. Your ship gets invaded by a boarding party, or some natural event occurs on your ship. Even a sickness outbreak.

There is a lot of possibilities on this.

Absolutely! As long as it's not like the aforementioned "bring me 50 warp coils" mission.

"Mine Enemy" has a short portion that takes place in the Ready Room. Something like that could work.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

It all sounds like a great Idea. I played one foundry mission that was supposed to be on board a ship and it was layed out terribly it even had a stairwell in it and everything was too large.
