Hello fellow captains.
I`m using an Galaxy Dreadnought recently and I have the feel that I'm laking in damage,
My build:

Some explanations;
Fore
-MK XII DBB (Its because I like one always firing phaser)
-180' QT (Because of the ships low turning rate)
-XI DC (When there are targets in front of me I like a little more punch)
-XII C (Because of its great fire arc and good damage)
Aft
-Turrets (the always firing turrets)
-XII QT (Sometimes a little more punch when the target is behind you its good)
My tactical BOF skills( we are talking about damage here) are:
-Tactical Team
-Beam Overload
-Cannon Spread
For the Eng. Commander :
-Emergency Power to shields I
-Eng. Team II
-Direct en. modulation II
-Aceton beam II
Lt. Com
-Emergency Power to shields I
-Reverse Shield Polarity I
Aux. to structural II
Lt. Science
-Science team I
-Polarize Hull II
Thx in advance and I`m open to opinions about other builds.

However in most cases that Phaser Lance is about the only thing that can really save your behind in some extreme situations. Thus I suggest for your Three Tac Console slots an all Phaser Relay build up, as the more damage you have with Phaser's the more Damaging the Phaser Lance (Along with all Tactical Skill Abilities of course).
That being said, This ship is a Cruiser thus it has more survivability than an Escort, but not so much on the Damage Per Second Ratio. .
If you are mostly playing STF's in your Dread much like I do, then your Engineering Console Slots need to be filled with at least two XI/XII Neutroniums, and two XI/XII Monotaniums. This will give you more survivabililty.
As a Tactical, having an EPS Flow regulator just isn't practical any more as the Dev's decided to nerf the properities it once had in quickly restoring you weapon power levels (IE after firing the Phaser Lance and or Beam Overload I,II,II, Or Fire At Will I,II,II etc). Changing your power level to shields for defense in this ship is not really a good idea, unless your Skills are built for more Bonus Energy points on Engines so you can quickly get away from a heated situation for healing.
While you display your Tactical Boff Station set up I do not see your Engineering set up, remember this is a Tank in all respects so you must also be setup like one
For Engineering Boff slots I use in the Commander slot Engineering Team I, Emergency Power to Shileds II, Emergency Power to Shields III, and Emergency Power to Structual Integrity III. for the Leutenant Station, you can use what you like but I suggest at least Reverse Shield Polarity I or II. This set up helps your survival Rate significantly. As for the Science Boff Station, for borg fighting, I suggest Science team I, and Transfer Shield Strength II, or instead of Science team you can put Hazard Emitters in place of that for more Hull healing.
Personally I just use Fire At Will I, Torp Spread II, and Tactical Team I in the Tactical Statinos, along with Four Phaser Beam Array's and Four Quantums. This is just my own setup though that I found is very economic on your Weapon Power. It's slower to kill, but efficient.
My own setup is mostly for Borg STF's, I have used it in PvP with some success but I am not much of a PvP'er either, maybe someone else will know better what to setup for PvP. It all depends really which one what you are building up for.
I do have a Tactical toon who likes using the Dreadnought/Galaxy X too
This is all just my opinion. . Just go with what works best for you.
1) 4 Single Cannons on the front and 4 Turrets on the AFT
2) 8 Beam Arrays (or 7 Beam Arrays and a Torp/mine of your choice) broadside. tell me how you would want to use the dread? what is your style?

1) Teamwork and timing is #1
2) You cannot "Kirk It" in every ship
3) You are going to die, just get back up
For the Eng. Commander :
-Emergency Power to shields I
-Eng. Team II
-Direct en. modulation II
-Aceton beam II
Lt. Com
-Emergency Power to shields I
-Reverse Shield Polarity I
Aux. to structural II
Lt. Science
-Science team I
-Polarize Hull II
If I`m going to fly a beam boat, I would fly an excelsior retro or the regent.
My aim is for STF.
Actualy I have some others:
-Excelsior Retrofit
-Odyssey op.
-Regent
-Mobious
-Armitage
1) That could be arranged
2)If I`m going to fly a beam boat, I would fly an excelsior retro or the regent./
I want to use the dread firstly to do some damage(not like an escort of course) and survive long battles against the borg
Well I know a few True good dread pilots who use Beam Boats and dish out major DPS. if you want a demonstration I will show you.
I have PvP someone with the Cannon build and it was a stalemate. at the end, I had more DPS but he had more healing. So it is virtually even. The difference in DPS was by a hundred or so.
Excelsior is usually used for Cannon Builds too...
