Would someone please explain how spawn camping in C&H games is fun.
For the last several months I've been playing mostly my KDF toons. Over the last few weeks, KDF spawn camping in C&H matches has become the norm. Today, I had back-to-back matches where the other KDF players spawn camped the Fed base. In the second match there were six KDF players camped, and of course the Feds had no chance. What's the point? What is fun about that?
It's no wonder the FvK queues have dried up. I don't go into them as a Fed for this very reason. Obviously it's no fun to spawn and face six other players just waiting for you. How is it fun to be on the other side?

Aint there a KDF Mission for killing the turrets around the base?? i am not sure i havent done a Cap and hold in like a year
Spawn camping is actually a valid strategy imo for CnH as long as you have a couple bases and at least one person making sure those bases don't get taken by a runner. Sometimes in a CnH there are not enough people to really hold the bases so instead of playing musical chairs with the other team it's better to keep them contained to prevent them running around and capping unguarded bases.
Spawn camping is a result of people wanting to fight, rather than sit alone at a capture point staring into empty space, for half the match. Seriously, finding anything interresting to do in a C&H map, besides mindless killing, is hard.
so often a fed team is so bad thats theres time to cap all the points nearly unopposed, so there is nothing for kdf to do other then look for a fight, and again since most feds are so bad, it just ends up being at their base. theres a daily for killin turrets too.
so basically it all comes down to so many players just being terrible. spawn capping and everything else thats complained about wouldn't happen if more players weren't terrible. in arenas too, spawn camping is 100% the team getting camped's fault. LEAVE YOUR DAMN SPAWN when the map starts, if you don't want the battle to take place there.
Oh look, a Fed complaining about spawncamping. That's funny, it always seems to be you guys doing the spawncamping in Ker'rat. . .at least, whenever I'm around. Even when the KDF has the advantage, we usually prefer to give our targets a chance to run. We don't tric the Fed spawnpoint, we don't sit there and annihilate anything that spawns in, etc. . .it always seems to be the Feddies who do that, usually after the KDF gives them a good fight.

I usually get away from spawn camping especially if I am on my kdf toon or in a fvf match. Much more difficult to get away on a fed with the kdf putting 8 assimilators and drones on you pluss leach that is no fun and that is why I do not q up for fvk not cause spawn camping!
Here is a solution: a 5-10 sec immunity from getting killed and to kill once spawned, once that expires it's free game for both sides, add to that multiple spawn points (that are either player chosen or picked at random and no same point picked via latter within 5 min) and your golden.
Sadly, if one team in C&H gets the majority of the points they tend to grow bored and go and kill things, if they're better then the other team by a fair amount then this is the logical conclusion.

Last time I checked, they hide behind a cloak - appear - attack - if they don't alpha kill, they run away... either way, they go back to hiding in cloak...

You speak for the entire KDF community?
I have been tric mined at the Fed spawnpoint before, and camped in general.
While I don't condone the use of tric mines, in Kerrat I find that on reset when the spawn has been mined by KDF and all feds are blown up, it makes them spawn on the other side as it should be.
As for CnH camping...it usually happens when the other team is useless, although it isn't hard to buff shields, full engine power, and evasive away...
I don't like Spawn camping. I find it dishonorable. In fact, if it comes to that point, I try to stay far away from their spawn site to at least give them a chance.
And it doesn't just happen against Feds. Sometimes, the Fed side is just so much better that the spawn camping happens to the Klingons.
@virusdancer: I only do that if I'm in a BOP. Otherwise I either cloak, decloak and fight fight fight or I forget to cloak.

Heh, it'd be silly to do otherwise in a BOP though... squishy lil' buggers.
I've argued the "honorable" thing from both sides - in the end, it's basically that each side has a different definition... pretty straightforward in how it is not straightforward.
It's more or less the result of the FvK queues. While klingons enter the game almost instantly, feds do not, and often some of them quit. Hence the game starts in uneven teams and results in spawn camp.
I understand spawn camp in CaH, if klingons also capture points to quickly end the match. But there are some players (premades rather) out there, who do not capture points and just spawn camp.
I do not understand spawn camp in Arena. And I laugh especially at those hipocrites, that spawn camp one team, and then BEG, yes BEG the last player who did not quit to NOT quit so they can finish the match.

gotta let this one go bro. not worth your effort. its just a part of it, ya know.
i don't see much fun in it, but then again, i don't find much fun in skydiving....but some people do. so...
anyways you know you are good enough to hang with anyone out there. kick em back.
have fun kill bad guys
It's hard to do when the rest of my "team" is spawn camping the enemy. I just fly in circles and shoot fireworks then.

More fun than sitting in space, capturing, watching nothing happen.
If there was any incentive to win, maybe capturing would feel useful, but seriously, any fun you have in C&H is killing and getting killed.
So being one of six guys, sitting on a spawn point, gang TRIBBLE the Feds as they spawn is fun for you?

Nearest I can tell, there is a sweet spot where you can drop an Aceton Assimilator that draws and holds aggro from the turrets, which can't kill it, and procs the hell out of the spawn point at the same time. This slows down the power recovery when respawning and leaves you vulnerable to the inevitable cloud of Tric mines.
It doesn't seem like much fun to me either but I'm sure some simp out there felt clever.

It's terrible but easy, and these Borg are way cooler than the mess STO and Voyager left us.
May not actually be "way" cooler or even "slightly" cooler.

If they're getting spawn camped they must not be resisting at all.
That's usually how it happens in Arenas.
4-5 guys get wiped fast and then the fight moves closer and closer to the spawn.
Feds also need to be quicker at leaving the spawn to keep the camping from happening.

I know your not a fed.
Its not fun to spawn camp in either arena or a C&H becuase you do not give your opponents time to respawn without grief. I find it without honor.
Now ker'rat is a different beast.
R.I.P
It isn't. My guess is that if the match gets to that point that people just want to end it as quickly as possible.

Fun? no. Better than sitting alone in space watching a floating logo sloooowly changing colour? Definately.
But here is two things I have noticed.
Feds just hang around the SB refusing to move.
Feds loiter around the SB when they come under attack hoping that the SB's defenses will assist them in getting a quick kill.
KDF players get frustrated, and try drive the Feds from the SB into the game.
Spawn-camping ensues.
Everyone becomes miserable, and zone chat soon becomes a free-for-all, and the next arena of who can throw the heaviest insult.
I retire and start doing doff missions near the center of the map...
It doesn't seem like much fun to me either but I'm sure some simp out there felt clever.
