600 day VA token

issueman1issueman1 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
So where is it? I've been here since beta and the VA token combined with a few of the other things finally got me to buy life time. But I can't figure out where the hell to get the VA token...

I actually had the same issue when I hit 600 days shortly after F2P. The token was available on characters I leveled since then, but existing characters who hit VA after F2P and before I hit 600 didn't get it retroactively.

For information on how to use your VA token, as well as claim and use other Vet Rewards, check out this FAQ: https://support.perfectworld.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3992/

If you already claimed a VA ship back before the vet reward was introduced, a second one is not available. Future characters you level up to VA will get one.

What about VA characters that hit VA after the token went away, and can just now get it because of the Vet Reward?

In that case, you get one but the ships available for the token have changed to exclude C-Store ships.

All of the ships covered by the token are C-store ships, though.

Branflakes: The issue the OP and myself (and by the sounds of it at least one other) are having is the third case you don't describe: Characters that are VA before reaching 600 days, which did not have a VA token under the old system, are not receiving the token at all. Because it's a one-time claim, there's no dialog option to replace the token like there is with the yachts or destroyers.

Almost correct... The VA Token can only be used for the 'Exploration Cruiser Retrofit', 'Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit' and 'Tactical Escort Retrofit'.

And even though these are all C-Store ships, using a VA token counts only as a 'one-time purchase' for a single character, and cannot be reclaimed if discarded...

If you already claimed a second Rear Admiral ship before the F2P transition (where they removed this perk and added it to the Vet Reward program), then you will get no token. You can only ever get a maximum of two free Rear Admiral ships. I'm pretty sure that's Working As Intended.

For example, I used my first for a Tactical Escort retrofit, and my second for an Assault Cruiser. When I hit 600 days, I didn't get a 3rd token, because I already had two RA ships.

I don't care how long you've been playing. I only care about how you play.
And remember to follow the rules.

no no, i had va before f2p... one of the deciding factors for me to finally buy lifetime was the extra va token... that is 100% false advertising, this is NOT stated on their little guide.

I believe they changed it so the VA token functions as a second RA token. I'll check with one of my characters if patching finishes before I have to leave for school, which is unlikely at this point.

They didn't change it like that, but even if they did, characters in those circumstances still aren't getting it. I've got characters in all three situations -

    1. Hit VA under the old system, already used their token, no second one (as covered in the FAQ).
    2. Hit VA after 600 days, got their vet token.
    3. Hit VA under the new system but before 600 days, can't get the token at all.

issueman, if you're problem is that you're not getting a second token when you already got one before F2P, that's not false advertising when the advertising material (linked by branflakes) says you don't get a second one.

Vice Admiral/Lieutenant General Ship Token: Speak with a Starship Requisition NPC to claim a Vice Admiral (Fed) or Lieutenant General (Klingon) ship. For Federation characters, this token can be used to claim an Exploration Cruiser Retrofit, Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit, or Tactical Escort Retrofit. For Klingon characters, this token can be used to claim a B'rel Bird-of-Prey Retrofit, Varanus Fleet Support Vessel, Marauder Patrol Cruiser, or Kar'Fi Battle Carrier.

Where does it say you aren't able to get one if you were a p2p member

    Hi Captains,

A little more clarification for you. In order to get the VA token, a player must:

    • Have the 600-day accolade (From subscribing monthly for 600 days or having a lifetime subscription)
    • Be on a character which is max level.
    • Has not already obtained one for free from when VA ships were first introduced and were given out at rank-up.
    • Have completed all the Promotion missions.
      • This will give them the perk Veteran Vessel which is what grants the VA token. If they have this perk, they have the token.

Once the above is met, the player will then be able to go to the ship requisition officer and choose from a few Vice Admiral Ships (For Federation characters, this token can be used to claim an Exploration Cruiser Retrofit, Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit, or Tactical Escort Retrofit. For Klingon characters, this token can be used to claim a B'rel Bird-of-Prey Retrofit, Varanus Fleet Support Vessel, Marauder Patrol Cruiser, or Kar'Fi Battle Carrier).

Also keep in mind, if you discharge the ship you bought with the token, you cannot reclaim it nor do you get a new token. You will have to purchase that ship with ZEN to get it back as these are ships which normally need to be purchased with ZEN. Also, ships purchased with the token do not qualify for the Fleet Ship Module discount if you're looking to purchase a Fleet Version of one of the ships listed above.

If you're still having issues, please reach out to Customer Support through support.perfectworld.com or send a direct email to customerservice@perfectworld.com

    Cheers,

I think he means those missions you get when you reach each of the rank levels (Captain, Rear Admiral, etc). For Feds you would go to the stateroom with the audience in ESD, speak with the officer at the platform and the room will salute you.

But this still is'nt what the post said originally(nor when I provided my money for LTS)

"Vice Admiral/Lieutenant General Ship Token: Speak with a Starship Requisition NPC to claim a Vice Admiral (Fed) or Lieutenant General (Klingon) ship. Please note that it does not say anything about "if you have already claimed this through acchievement, you cannot claim again"

My intention on buying this was specificially for my long used character to have a Exploration Cruiser Retrofit, and a Tactical Escort Retrofit. I va'd out to get the Enterprise knockoff, and then subscribed to get the Defiant knockoff...to now find that would'nt happen($300 later of course)

Why was'nt that noted to subscribers before the Vice Admiral Ships were being provided at top tier? Why weren't subscribers made aware that you won't get portions of the promotion because you were in the game before it was free to play?

This is sooo frustrating...is it so terrible to allow those who earned a VA ship through hard work to have an extra one through Long Term Subscriptions? Will that create chaos in PWE?

No to harp on this, but I find it funny that BranFlakes link to the FAQ on the first page points to a site that still places the Veteran Rewards program as something that was about time played/waited or willingness to spend time with the game over willing to fork over cash that implies(does not guarantee) a person cares about playing the game for a good amount of time(at least until its sunset one would hope). However after some of the joyous posts online, not all are about appreciating the rewards due to commitment. It's all about sweet, sweet loot and what has my money gotten me access to lately.

We know you have a lot of options when it comes to how you spend your time. That's why it means so much to us that you choose to spend it with Star Trek Online. To show our appreciation, we've put together great Veteran Rewards for anyone who's been a Star Trek Online subscriber for 100 to 1,000 days with new reward sets every one hundred days.

Ok, I'll try and stop with the harping, but I just had to get that last one in. :D

This is not what is advertised. Please check this link. There is no small print. There is no disclaimer. There is no link to another page for more information. Cryptic clearly and concisly state:

    600 Days
    Magnificent Title
    FREE Vice Admiral Ship Token
    FREE Full Respec
FREE Costume Slots (set of 2)

Now I can understand how this offer may have been made in error. Any one who works in retail knows that some times signs and offers are put out which read differantly to their intention. Any one who works in retail also knows that when this happens you honer the deal as advertised and take the sign down as soon as possible.

This is not one of those casses. This offer has been clearly advertized for over a year. No disclaimer has been added and the offer has not been withdrawn. Honering this deal costs cryptic nothing. These are virtual items of which they possess an infinite supply. Not honering it hurts the reputation of cryptic, Perfect word and STO.

The ship token I and others recived at VA was rewarded for reaching VA. The vetran reward sight clearly offers one for 600 days payed subscription. There is no room for confusion hear. If I offer you $5 to go and get me some milk from the shops, and then offer you $5 to go back out and get me a mars bar I pay you $10 for the service as advertised. Not $5 for the first service and the same $5 I already payed for the 2nd service.

As consumers we can not make Cryptic give us the VA ship tokens, but I for one will cirtainly be spreding bad word of mouth about them If they dont at least remove this blatent false advertising.

Let me get this straight. You paid $300 specifically for a ship. One where if you discharge it, you can not get it back. Instead of paying $20 for the same ship. Where is you discharged it, you can reclaim it. That is just not very smart money management.

I remember when the change came about. Many were upset that the VA token was removed. They added it to the 600 day reward as compensation, which they didn't even have to do. I understand your point about what is writen on the page. If you notice, at the very bottom of the page is a disclaimer. "Subject to change." In fact, IIRC, when these ships came out, RAnwas the highest rank. The only two way to get them was through the C-Store or grinding marks.

If you were here long enough to be affected by what you quoted in your sentence, you were here long enough to remember the very clear justification given for this move. The 600 day reward was added to compensate vets who lost the VA level token during the F2P transition. In other words, you already used your VA token before they even implemented it if you bought a VA ship before F2P. They were quite clear about that.

They have continually reiterated and clarified this fact ever since the announcement of the 600 vet token was instantiated. So if you are looking for precendent, there it is.

Sorry to bump an old-ish thread, but it had the answer I was looking for. Sadly it wasn't what I wanted to here :|

Speak with a Starship and Shuttle Requisitions NPC to claim the ship. If you accidentally discharge it speak to the same NPC to receive another token to claim it again.

Bollocks. I really do wish that was made clear before I dismissed my 600day vet ship.
Seeing as you can reclaim the 400 and 1,000 day ships, I assumed you could also reclaim the 600 day ship...
Communication is one aspect which needs to be improved upon in this game and its features.

Earned a VA ship through hard work? What hard work?

Also, it was made perfectly clear when the VA token was reintroduced into the game as a Vat reward that you would not be able to claim a second ship if you already had one.

What part of the promotion aren't you getting? As I understand it, you earned a VA ship when you first reached VA, well before F2P. Correct? You got your ship token then. Then F2P happens, and the VA token is added as a Vet reward, and you complain that you aren't getting one even though you've already had one.

    hmmm, a remark:

fleet B'rel is now the ONLY kdf ship with the fleet ship module discount (T5)

BUT, AWARE - i'Ve bought the b'rel with almost every toon on 50 (and used) for the 600 day token,

but i was not applicable for the discount. I had to buy it for 2000 Zen from the Store first.

now waiting for the fleet to get so far and trying to get into the projects :D

so on KDF side - do NOT buy b'Rel for the 600 day token if you wanna use the fleet b'rel - you'll still have to buy the Zen ship!!!
