i don't know, or like, the design very well, but the proportions look a bit off to me. now remember, we are almost certain this is gonna be a sci ship, with cannons, it will be interesting

1000 day ships revealed as well, blog about them next tuesday according to brian

now the klingon vet ship, the Peghqu'

kdf pics- https://twitter.com/STOJamesLee/status/254683250440687617/photo/1/large
James just posted another shot of The Peghqu', showing off one of its modes -- the Sector Space Mode transformation, in this case: http://twitter.com/STOJamesLee/status/254683250440687617/photo/1

the nacelles exposed themselves a bit, wonder what else it does

i like that common components are used here, the warp engines i think are exactly the same ones off of a lower tier raptor i think. like that the cannon harpoints looking like actual cannons, and not just from a spot on the hull. with the fleet somraw and fleet scorge finally giveing the kdf good escorts, another escort looking ship is a bonus, and hopefully as good, and not to gimmicky

only saw 1 of the fed vet ships, the chimera

fed pic- https://twitter.com/STOJamesLee/status/254667025102811136/photo/1/large

its clearly almost exactly like one of those ent-f contest entries, the one that inspired the intrepid refit costume deflector.
Wait till you see her in-game. A still from a digital camera taking video doesn't do the Chimera justice. She is absolutely beautiful, and so is the KDF ship. Also, their transformations are incredible.

Wait till you see her Lotus power! The KDF ship (the Peghqu') has one too :D I will not be saying anymore  You'll have to turn into Priority One on Monday or the Blog on Tuesday for more details. Needless to say, EPICNESS is abound.

worried about to many gimmicks myself with these vet ships, hop they don't give anything up for gimmicks. oh who am i kidding, ships don't give anything up for an advantage anymore.

guessing the vesta as gonna have the same station setup as the regent, only sci in place of engineering. not sure on the vt ships, heard them refereed to as destroyers, so escorts, but the fed ship looks like a cruiser, not a tac heavy ship at all.

What have Vet rewards ever done for ground by the way? I know everyone thinks PvP is borked from creep/apathy/weak PvE but if that's the case then ground stuff has been Completely ignored...

I dunno, I kinda like the Vesta (but I'm partial to a kit-bash of the Star Cruiser I've got floating around, so it could just be down to preferences). For those that might not know, it's not a particularly small ship (a hair shorter bow-to-stern than the Sovvy, but with less beam and draft). I'm really hoping we get the forward swept pylons, as well. I wouldn't be surprised if its BOff layout was similar to the AC-R or Vo'Quv.

It'll probably be the last Fed-side C-Store ship I buy (already have the Regent and Armitage), becoming the new ride of my Sci cappy in the Armitage. Cryptic would have to go beyond the impossible to really come up with an in-house model that wows me into buying another Fed ship. KDF side... eh, IDK, other than the Fleet Corsair Flight-Deck cruiser and Fleet Ning'Tao, there's not really a lot that appeal to me.

Here's a few links to Mr. Rademaker's renders of the ship.

Just for giggles, that flat space at the back between the nacelles? Runabout launchpads. Along with a shuttle bay near the back of the saucer. Have a nice night.

Before the Atrox and Armitage, folks were talking about it being the Fed Carrier - the specs for it basically had it as a shuttlecarrier...

I'm kinda interested in what these "Transformations" are for the 1k ships. I hope it's not going to be too cheesy. But I am interested in how it will play out. I suspect though both will be Cruiser/Battle Cruiser first. And the Transformations maybe allow for Escort Modes. Which might be kinda fun.

Of course the Seating also depends on how effective it will be.. as well as the turn rate. So looking foward to Monday/Tuesday.

im frankly shocked they seemingly put so much effort into something they are going to give away for free to people who have been here from the beginning, old timers hasn't exactly been their focus since F2P. whats the incentive? what the catch? are the consoles for its transformations in the lobi store? ii guess m just to jaded to think im about to get something truly premium for free here soon.

i ll place a bet, that something is going to be 100% OP, and as soon as it hits holodeck, a Dev is coming in here admitting it in under 24h.

On the bright side, this is actually progress.

    lol

    It's like a 12-step program for devs!

Step one: Admit you have a problem!

    1. We admitted we were powerless over abilities?that our game had become unmanageable.
    2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity/balance.
    3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of dStahl as we understood Him.
    4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of the ships and abilities.
    5. Admitted to the players, to ourselves, and to another dev being the exact nature of our wrongs.
    6. Were entirely ready to have Borticus remove all these defects of character traits.
    7. Humbly asked dStahl to remove our spam.
    8. Made a list of all players we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
    9. Made direct amends to such players wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
    10. Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
    11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with the playerbase as we understood It, praying only for knowledge of the players will for us and the power to carry that out.
    12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to devs, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Console ? Universal ? Dynamic Tactical System: Tactical Mode (Disables Regenerative Mode, +5 Weapon power, +30 Starship Targeting Systems), Tachyon Inversion Beam (Requires Regenerative Mode), Phaser Lotus (Requires Tactical Mode)
    Advanced Quantum Slipstream Drive

what we have here is another kirk dream ship for sure. its got the same station setup as the odyssey, only it has a tactical commander. how much you wanna bet the vesta is going to have this setup, only with a commander science station?

couple of negatives, only 9 consoles plus a special console that shifts it from defensive to offensive mode, and 14 turn rate is well below quite a few other escorts. also they have special phaser or disrupter weapons, so you would be silly to use any other weapon type on these ships if you want your tactical consoles effecting both your weapons and the special. i know i'll have to grind all new sets of weapons.

this destroyers are basically klingon battle cruiser with the TRIBBLE turned up past the fleet ktinga and vorchas's 11, all the way up to 15. think of them this way, they arent really escorts. id be real interested to see its inertia score. the kdf version is basically a stat clone, except...

    Peghqu' Heavy Destroyer

    Minimum Rank: Lieutenant General
    Hull Strength: 34,500
    Shield Modifier: 0.833
    Crew: 750

    Advanced Quantum Slipstream Drive
    Battle Cloak

well, now that sure does look like fun, being able to battle cloak it up! i think every cloak in game should be a battle cloak, so i approve!

that raptor shield mod has got to go though...

think i'll set mine up like this to start

damage control and BFI doffs, 4 DHC

    TT1, CRF1, APO1, CRF3

    EPtS1, RSP1, EWP1
    EPtW1, A2S1

They're both 9 console ships. I hope there's a 10 console fleet variant for these, or it's going to be a very long time for F2P people.

Which reminds me, if this is the over 1000 ship award, can anyone imagine what the "IT'S OVER 9000!" day vet award will be like?

    These actually look well balanced.

But it all hinges on what is meant by 'siphon shields from multiple targets'
How much drained? what is the return? Skill resistable? Skill buffable? etc.

In terms of the raw stats though, probably the most balanced ship they have released since the Rhode Island. Probably because it's free though.

At first I was looking at the ships and figuring.. "Looks cool.. Nice concept.. Might be fun to fly even if for a little while." Then I relooked at Simon's stats and noticed on the KDF..

    Battle Cloak

That screeching sound you hear is my brain suddenly pulling to a halt..scrolling back up and re-reading it to make SURE I hadn't missed something EXTREMELY Important.. And I was right.. THAT will make that ship definitely fun to fly. So what if it's got a 14 Turn rate base? Though I will admit the Consoles in my opinion should have been different for each.. The Fed one should have 4 Tac, 3 Sci, 2 Engi. And the KDF one should be 4 Tac, 3 Engi, 2 Sci. But that's my opinion on it. Would be sweet if they would have introduced a new console slot: Universal :P So then you could have 5 Tac consoles. But that's a Dream for another day. :P

Ya know.. something like that would make me mad normally.. But actually, I kinda like that.. I mean sure it makes my up and coming 1,000 days feel a little less important, but it is a nice way to give some one something back for buying a life time sub. Edit: Whoops I don't know how to read.. lol

And you don't have to pony up the money, you can just wait till your 1,000 days of normal sub time, DDIS. That is just an incentive to go life time instead. :)
