I've noticed for awhile now that the maps all seem to have some kind of linked zoom with the camera zoom. Happens both with the regular mission map that you pull up with the M key, and the mini map in the corner.
It seems that when you set the zoom for one, it translates into the others, both space and ground.
Example: I could get a ground mission in an exploration cluster, zoom it in, and then when I finish the mission and head back to sector space, my ship is zoomed in.
Then when I zoom out for the ship, and look at a map again, the map in zoomed out.
Since S6 I'm seeing a lot of problems with zoom. Most times now it doesn't "zoom" at all, especially in ground combat. It will act like I"m zoomed but I don't get the "over the shoulder" angle anymore. It never comes back once it's gone, either. I get no indication from camera at ALL that I have engaged this mode. My only clue is minor change in rifle position and I can't move very quickly. It's highly irritating.
To top it off, it seems that sometimes map zoom and space camera zoom are REVERSED and to move in on one is to move out on the other. I really wish they would make zoom more logical based upon the context of which item is being zoomed (ground, space, map).

Since Beta???.. rather depressing.
Maybe I wasn't observant earlier, but I don't remember this happening prior to S6.. could be wrong.
