Chroniton Torp Boat

I've been mentally tinckering around with a build and I Want some feed back on it before I get home from work and actually build it.

It's the RSV with 3 chroniton Torps fore and most likely 3 polaron beam arrays aft, althoough if I can pull off 3 more torps aft, I will. I also might toss in the Hargh'peng torp for the lulz. However, if I do notice that would leave me with zero dps on my port and starboard bows for 90*... so not ideal. But I could then dump my wepaons powerr and work with three subsystems.

My tac Boffs would be 2X torp spread and then tac team, of course. And I have Blue Projectile boffs. The rest of my build revolves around using tyken's rift and energy siphoneback to back.

Is this viable? Are there things I should look out for? Anything else I should consider?

No idea but feedback pulse on full aux will help out your dps if you come under fire.

turrets mayhap instead of arrays, that would boost forward punch. polaron or tetryon.
breen transphasic cluster torp (hereafter known as BTCT....that's to much to type) and 2 chronitrons could be another option. with 3 blue projectile doff's the 2 10 sec torps ought to recharge pretty fast most of the time. unsure however if the breen torp is affected by doff's. if it is, the chance to proc a doff will occur everytime a torp fires, so that 45secs could end up significantly reduced.

the only real issue i see with your current plan is no hull damage until you can get through the shields...which will be slow considering all you have firing forward is torps. have to turn taking torps out to bring beam arrays into arc. har'pheng would help forward if the BTCT doesn't work for you. tetryon turrets would help quite a bit in taking down shields faster.

3x Photons (or Quantums) with 3 blue DOffs is a blast - there's ALWAYS torps flying at your target.

You're not going to be doing much damage with that set up anyways, so don't worry about that - just try to be as annoying as possible.

Quantums work as a torpedo boat due to the raw damage which is still over 1000 damage to shields after resistance. The problem with chroniton is you need x4 front torpedoes to fire at full speed due to the slow fire rate and I do not believe the extra hits from lowering a targets defense will make up for the lower base damage.

If you are boosting chroniton damage you may as well use chroniton mines.
Blue Projectile doffs works with other torpedoes but as chroniton are 10sec reload you really need x3 purple Projectile doffs.

I think your idea could work with one of the other torpedo types. Although would lowering a targets speed and turn rate then dropping a grav well do extra damage as they get sucked into the middle?

EDIT: Perhaps look into a Chroniton Flux Torpedo Launchers over Chroniton.

Lots of info here. Seriously, years of experience in this thread.

I wouldn't favor this build. But, if you're running 3 beam arrays in the back I'd just make them turrets and run no weapon power for the procs. Grab some polarized disruptors, they're pretty cheap on the exchange, and get the polaron drain and the 10%.

Photons with torp doffs are overkill, they fire fast enough that you lose the benefit. Quantums get to the same speed with doffs.

A drain build is easier KDF side, although it's a no-skill setup, and I freely admit that I ran hipster a drain Kar'fi (I was draining people before drains were OP).

If you're married to the idea of energy siphon I think there's a new doff that causes a subsystem disable while it's active, so look for that. I'd still go with a doff'd Viral Matrix for shutdowns or a TBR to isolate healers and Head On (apply directly to the hull).

Above all, read the thread I linked.
