Any news on the mysterious "Galaxy-Pack"?

I was just wondering if we have any information regarding that and if it would make sense to save up a bit. A Pack will certainly come at 5000Z, but what will be featured?

Gal-Retrofit, Gal-Refit, Dreadnought, Bridges, Costume?

    We all know the devs just don't like the Galaxy Class or anything related to TNG.

    IIRC, BranFlakes stated the Galaxy Pack was just a discounted price on the various Galaxy Ships. It didn't include any uniforms, bridges, or anything else.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    And in addition to that it was canceled because they couldn't make the Store sytem detect whether you had already purchased any single Galaxy previously, discounting the pack even further or preventing you from purchasing it when you already had laready bought all of them individually.
    Or in other words: prevent a s**tstorm on the forums when someone managed to s**ew up his purchase complaining it was Cryptic's fault...like they always do.

    Well, between bonus Zen sales, C-Store sales, and the Dilihium Exchange it's not as though it's hard to not pay full-price for something around here. :)

    Yes, the dev's hate TNG ships so much that the Nebula is one of the best science ships, or even ships period, in the game.

    It was also because they could not find a way to charge people a second time for the Gal-X saucer sep.
    The minute they released this pack, someone like me who owns all of the galaxy class ships could simply take the saucer sep console from the Gal-R and put it on the X, the devs didn't want that so they cancelled it...

    There never *WAS* a Galaxy-X saucer sep. It says it can't be done in the Gal-X description, they glued them together when they added the lance. The screenshots you allegedly saw of it were obvious fakes done in photoshop. It was never real. And the truth is, I don't think there ever *WERE* any screenshots, even. Just screenshots of "screenshots". By making it a "secondhand" screenshot, the people showing it were able to disguise the poor quality of the shoopwork and fool you into believing this was ever real in the first place.

    It was also talked about in interviews with several podcasts. I believe it was on STOked specifically that Geko said the lance would basically become shorter range and wider arc, like a pulsewave rifle in space. It was even addressed in a post-F2P Ask Cryptic, but the answer wasn't hopeful (technical problems, lower priority than new ships).

    So, yeah, you're right on one count: It was a photo of a monitor and not a screenshot. At the time a lot of the devs were doing that, though, and seeing how many things we saw that way are now in game, it's hard to call it just poor photoshop work.

    And even if it did, descriptions can be changed. The only thing that's stopping the Galaxy-X saucer-sep is technical issues
    Was named Trek17.

    Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.

    The Nebula is NOT the Galaxy, it's the ugly little sister ship, which is more useful and in a certain way better than the Galaxy. If that's no sign of their refusal to TNG i don't know. :D
    Besides the Nebula, they really seem not to like TNG very much.

    - Galaxy Class the most teethless cruiser in the Game. (even the D'Kora, Galor and Excelsior class have more firepower in STO, althrough they are from the same time period or even older)
    - TNG phaser pistols (The Cobra Phasers) are just Stun and wide beam, Compression phaser pistols have different design. (Phaser pistols are the only pistols featuring two completely different models)
    - TNG (series) uniform is made very cheap, blurry and looks just bad.
    - TNG (series) Combadge much too big, while the TNG movie/DS9/Voy Combadge is much smaller and looks better. (the funny thing is that there was a smaller version already in the game, but the devs removed it in favour of a much bigger one, lol)


    OT: i think the saucer Seperation for the Galaxy -X is going to come somewhen in the Future. (I can't remember where i read it.)

    the separating galaxy X and new separating tech is being held up because of the venture skin. the neck is at a lower elevation so to speak, and is incomparable with the odyssey tech at this moment. instead of releasing the galx sep with the clunky old tech, they wanted to release the new tech for both galaxy, and the difference in neck height from the venture is holding it all up

    the pack was canceled because too many people owned 1, some, or all the ships already, the pack would be useless to them and the sep tech still isn't ready

    See, THIS is yet another reason I don't believe a word they say. We have been lied to far too often for them to be credible, unless you are hopelessly naive and gullible. Again and again they offer cake, and again and again, the cake is a lie.

    The Nebula IS related to TNG. The Nebula may be "ugly" to you, but some people think the Galaxy is ugly too. The Nebula serves its role (utilitarian/science vessel with moderate range), just as the Galaxy did (long range exploration and carried families on board and is self sustainable). The Galaxy in this game isn't a powerhouse, nor should be, but it is a real tough nut to crack. No matter the class I use, I really don't want to be shooting at a Galaxy1 v1 because it can keep itself in a fight longer than any other ship, except the Ody' , and if its setup for constant flow of damage, it can overcome most ships in the game with a good captain behind it.

    At least you have better moments than the TOS Movie stuff:

    No TOS Movie era hand weapons at all

    The WOK uniforms can't have rank added to them. They also have some "fuzziness" to them as well.
    (Btw the later seasons TNG uniforms look fine in this game, the earlier ones do look bad, but they looked bad in the show too, so at least there is symmetry)

    One can make a Galaxies interior look like a Galaxy, cant do that with an Excel or any other TOS Movie era ship.
