Borg Console/Engine/Deflector+Omega/MACO shield, or full Omega Maco, etc? And also, what 2 pets do you prefer using on it? The Advanced Stalker with something else, 2x Advanced Stalker, two totally different ones, discuss?
Sounds about right. I do like the idea of the move/turn boost on Omega though, but the power link is good on MACO. What about Delta flyers, no love there, or should I be the one doing the shield debuffing, obviously?
Its probably my pvp perspective. Shield drains suck against players since everyone specs into Insulators. Therefore no Tetryon beams and no Delta Flyers.
Personally Id rather the +10% resistance, +5% absorption, +(10x4) power, greater shield capacity and nicer ship skin over the little bit of turn rate.
You dont need turn rate on a carrier. (and if you did, just add Conn DOFFs)
My Favorite from everything I tried is MACO Def and Shields, Borg Engines and Console and Advanced Peregrines and Advanced Runabouts. I started also using Fleet Advanced Tetryon Beam Arrays Acc, Wide Angle Quantum Launcher and Fleet Advanced Quantum Launcher Acc and 2 Advanced Peregrines for effect and it is also working very well. Sad to say though, the Atrox really leaves something to be desired after flying a Tholian Carrier.
Hi, my name is: Elim Garak, Former Cardassian Oppressor
LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?
I fly my atrox pretty much only in STFS, I kit it out with 3x Borg Quantums (front) 3xBorg AP turrets back. Maco shield and array, borg engines and console. adv pere and adv danube.
9 times out of 10 I'll end up with aggro on the bosses because of the dps of my quantums (no shields + torps + purple projectile officers = NASTY)
generally speaking I can hold the probe stream on a side by myself up until one of the gates goes down, and then I can put down a herculian effort. then again I roll with 2 tractors and a Grav well so between me and the danubes we lock down pretty hard.
Does anyone like the idea of using two Omega pieces for Tetryon Glider, etc?
It depends on your Bridge officer powers, can you afford to give up the heal proc(s)? If so are you wanting to go 2xOmega and 2xborg or just take the best shield(MACO) with 2xOmega and borg console?
As a general rule the Omega deflector will (moderately, about 1%) boost your DPS with sci powers and weapons and tetryon glider will help you see exposed hull sooner.
As a point of clarification (in case you need it) the Glider effect is scaled with weapon power and flow capacitors, Particle generators have no effect on the drain it provides, if your weapon power is low you won't see much of a benefit from the glider it self but will still get a DPS boost from the omega deflector.
Well, this is for STFs, so, Im honestly just wondering, hell, if someone wants to give me a full build for debuff/damage for my Sci captain fire away.
It'd work better if you posted your "thoughts/build" then let us critique them, it would help the ship play more to your style and less to ours. I'm feeling bored so I'll throw out some thoughts for an Atrox build, given my play style/preferences it'll be more of a shield tank/controller and I freely admit to NOT flying sci ships in PVP or elite STFs.
Gear
3xborg, Maco shield
Eng: 2x Neutronium alloy, assimilated module.
Sci:1xfield emitter,3xpartical generators
Tac:2xdisruptor console
Hanger 1: Runabouts (reasonable DPS, tough and good control w/ TB)
Hanger 2:Runabouts
STF weapons: 3xturrets in the back and 2xDBB with a photon torpedo in the front. DHC's seem unwieldy for something this sluggish.
PVP/Normal PVE weapons: 4xBA 1xDBB 1X Photon Torpedo
Doffs. 3xdamage control engineer, 1xGravity well Doff,1xTractor beam Doff.
With that build I'd fully expect to fly around with capped shield resist and to push my opponents into Tyken rifts/gravity wells for bonus DPS.
One Gravity well will not hold any borg ship or player on it's own, you'll need to chase it with a tractor beam/target engines/tykens rift/tractor beam repulsors to keep them in the grinder or get an extra gravity well from the Doff, about a 55% chance with a purple Doff. Luckily you'd have phaser and tractor beam wielding pets to help you do that.
The shield stripping from the tractor beam Doff is the same regardless of level and does about 1000 damage per shield facing, it doesn't scale with level so in your 50s it might not be worth much.

1x Advanced Peregrines
1x Advanced Stalkers
Overall Decent damage, decent respawn time, decent number of spam pets, draining Aux is nice too.
Just no DaN00b pets.

1x Advanced Peregrines - general dps pet, weak against shields
1x Advanced Stalkers - strong against shields
For bashing structures in stfs:
2x Advanced Peregrines
So you need:
2x Advanced Peregrines
1x Advanced Stalkers
and swap those as needed when out of red alert.
