Low to mid-range advice...

The task: run a low to mid-level character up to VA using none of the episode content, very little PvE, and a lot of time in war-zones like Kerrat.

Most of the advice I see on PvP seems to presume a top-tier character with lots of points to spend, EC to spend, and Dil to spend-as in Admiral levels.

But, how would you start with a deliberate build, from generation through development, focused on ONLY levelling through PvP (at least until STF's become available to go after the enhanced sets of parts)?

I leveled my last 2 toons doing nothing but PVP. It took about 6 or 7 days to hit level cap. ( this was about a year ago). The secret is to know what you want those those toons for when they hit level cap, & build to that.. I still have 9 respecs on my new tac :D. Lower level PVP is a LOT of fun, but not much of a challenge for a Smurf, usually. Kerrat, + the PVP ques ( & I guess you could use the fleet actions now) made leveling very easy. 1 small caveat, I made my new toons about the time the game went F2P, So there was a lot of new players, I'm not sure how populated the Ques are at lower levels today.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Time played in game. as of 9/12/12 (on my mains) Total 2907 hours.K'zoontite has been on active duty for 34 days, 3 hours, Bot Fly has been on active duty for 55 days, 4 hours, Poppa Capp has been on active duty for 4 days, 12 hours, B'zooka has been on active duty for 12 days, 22 hours,Tater(fed) has been on active duty for 14 days, 10 hours,

Why waste your time flying around kerrat doing nothing, cause you will be alone 99% of the time... or waiting for hours in a que that doesn't pop....

Really Spam Mirror Uni and if your not full level in 2 days it means you didn't spam it for a full hour each go. Really they have made the pve leveling so stupid easy that really a monkey on typewriter could do it.

I leveled up a few klink toons with a friend a month after Season 5 launched, there were F2P'ers filling the low level PVP queues, all we needed was common gear and a decent shield to be damn near unbeatable at Commander & Captain level. It was good fun and a good source of dilthium, these days they seem a lot quieter.

I've recently leveled a new fed tac, and up to commander, I couldn't get a single pvp match due to the fact almost all Feds were queued to fvk, lol. According to bort, this should have been fixed, but he said hell take a look again. After commander, I probably got 10 other pvp matches, but it took forever for a game to pop. Sad thing is that leveling is much faster if you play pve .

Lol. Isn't that bc most revenue in the game comes from already leveled tunes (or at least level 40+)? All box ships, high end zstore ships, gear, services...

It is actually impossible those days to level through PvP only. Low level PvP is an immense fun as anything is about skill, the equipement matters not and with minimal amount of BO skills you can kick even a good player :)

But the queues are not poping and waiting for them is waste of time. I could not sleep and played late in the night (so during US prime time more or less) but the queues for commander-level PvP poped out only two times during 6 hours or so of play.

Ker'rat on low levels it is populated with Feds only so no real reason to be there (without Klinks it's PvE, lame, repetetive PvE).

If you do not want to do regular missions then at least try your luck on PvE queues - they pop up much more regualrly. Or, if you really want to level via PvP only then gather a lot, LOT of patience.

In good times before season 5 you could level yourself via PvP only and while it was not very fast it was fun. Even during season 5 it was doable. Now it's just a pain in the butt. Just level as quickly as possible to VA and learn PvP from this point.

For a fed toon I just go do the patrol missions and the mirror event ,, it's quicker than the episode missions,,, worked for me ,, pvp at low end takes a while to pop and is pretty much over in mins ,,,

    Duno about kinks tho,,,,

wile leveling don't worry to much about gear. i try to have at least a cap2 shield, and green acc weapons and green consoles, but don't break the bank for any of this stuff

I have thought about trying to level though pvp the biggest problem is the pvp queues almost never pop and when they do half the people are afk and you go back into the queue.

The warzone seems to not even reward exp (maybe it does) i had over 20 kills in about a hour and did't even manage half a level. The upside of the warzone was it was hunting grounds for a klingon lots of federation targets and if your willing to use guerrilla tactics you can have some fun.
