Has anyone tried the Fleet Reconnaissance Science Vessel?

Asked this a couple days ago, but only got one response.Trying again hoping more have tried this ship!
It looks pretty sweet for a science captain who also wants to do a little damage: four tac consoles, same tac boff layout as assault cruiser, yet seven science boff skills, and the same bonus to auxiliary, subsystem targeting, and sensor analysis the other science vessels get. Oh, and great turn rate. Anyone else as excited as I am?

Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

I fly one. the stats aren't that much greater than the regular recon, but I seem to get significantly better performance.

Recon was my favorite ship, till i got my hands on my cannon-scort. It depends on your build, amongst other things. The survivability was it's worst aspect, I think the fleet version addressed some of it. I'd spend the 20mil EC on it.

And what will it do for an engineer? It does look like a sweet deal.

Better way to look at it would be "What will an engineer bring to it?"

The ship has Escort-like tactical consoles with full science consoles. It's toothy, but lacking a bit in Tac officer powers. You're never going to be particularly good at dealing damage, but with your Eng skills you should have little trouble finding a nice balance between crowd control, team healing, and enough damage to easily deal with probes.

Hey, thanks for the answer. :) So few people ever reply (well, unless to say something nasty, lol).

I plan on getting one when my fleet has it avaliable. I am currently using the regular one you get for free and i have set it up with the Jem haddar set and using the Phase polorized hybrid beam weapons on it and I love it. :D:D:D:cool:
