New KDF Ship Skins

What type of skin would you like to see for endgame KDF ships, both Klingon and non-Klingon?

Personally, I'd like a second skin to be made available to the currently one-skin-only endgame ships; specifically the Bortasqu', Gurumba, Maruader, Varanus and Kar'Fi. Then after that, I'd like more skins made available through the ranks.

I'd like them to be free, but I'd be willing to pay for them as well. And since they're only aesthetics, not entirely separate ships, it'd help reduce dev work (and the less work, the more chance it will be done).

These reskins can be only minor changes, like a refit would do... though I do think the Maruader needs a heavy redesign.

For an example, my list of potential changes for a 2nd Bortasqu' skin, taken from the thread in my signature (currently):

Bortasqu':
* The plyons can stay the same, but for the second option, make them point downward slightly (like the Negh'Var).
* The neck can be thickened a bit in the middle, making it more straight.
* For the 'saucer' head, keep it like it is, but remove that lower projection thing on the bottom.
* On the nacelles, move the lower outward spike to the back instead.
* Engineering hull can stay the same.

The last bullet is because I haven't thought of what would look better yet, but you get the idea.

What are your thoughts? And what do you think would be good skins for KDF ships?

A more Klingon like skin for the Kar'Fi is a number one thing for me, I don't like the Fek'lhri fish like look. It's all cosmetic I know but it's stopped me from buying the ship for that very reason.

I sorta agree, though I admit, the Kar'Fi's sorta got a good look that's growing on me.

But for me, the one that needs the biggest overhaul is the Marauder. One look is all that really needs to be said (and on a side-note, might need a second hanger bay). Even just a slimmer skin would be appreciated.

But overall, in addition to content, just more customization options would go a long way.

I have the Marauder that I no longer use. I find it a rather poor cruiser, the Vorcha is much better in my opinion. Looks aside, it needs a buff to make it more useful, perhaps a bit more tanky. You rarely see them around in Klingon space anymore, yet 4 months ago they were everywhere.

I think part of that might be everyone realizing that you can actually run dhc's on the klingon cruisers I think that dps might trump the single hangar on the marauder, though I may be wrong on that.

That said, looks is the largest reason I don't use the marauder. :o

As I've stated elsewhere, I'm looking for a new Qin skin. Something that marries the Puyjaq and the Birok with with those menacing cannons off the hull like the Puyjaq.

    Yeah... it is.

The T3 and T4 Orion ships are great looking, and slim, while the Maruader... uh. We get it's supposed to be this big carrier type ship, but the bloated look isn't doing it any favors. At the very least, taking off that forward overhang detail (the one that has those 'spikes', and the gap with the rest of the ship), that would help.

And perhaps it needs a 2nd hanger bay, to help that.

A 2nd hangar would do the ship wonders I think, even if it's still restricted to only drones and fighters with no frigates/BOP's.

Not sure I would want it as a skin, as such, but the Voodieh class from TNG All Good Things for the Negh'Var. Although I'd prefer to see the Negh'Var get a proper finish and see the Voodieh as a BG level Refit (which I would buy in a hummingbird's heartbeat) I would settle for being able to reskin my Negh'Var for free.
