Yes they do, so if you get the turret you may as well switch to phasers.

Yup, it is also affected by your skills, buffs, debuffs on the enemy, weapons power, and all that fun stuff. So unleashing it with mega-tactical buffs running can demolish a lot of bad things very quickly.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

same goes for phaser lance on the galaxy x...the guramba (disruptor)...and any other ability that fires some type of weapon (photon orpedo turret from the armitage)

As infrequent as it's used, wouldn't using a different energy type, (AP DIS) still be more beneficial tahn trying to match all the consoles up to the PDC?

depends. while the boost from 4 phaser relays is substantial for the PDC i wouldn't say that you need to have phasers if you use the PDC. It certainly is better to use phasers with that conole, since phasers are good and functional weapons by themselves.

could the overall dmg be bigger with antiproton or disruptors+PDC, maybe...but the proc from phasers isn't bad either. In PVP among the best weapon type, in PVE also usefull.

For PvE it's whatever energy typ suits you and the mission won't be lost without Phaser Relays boosting the PDC. But as Baudl said the damage with consoles is quite impressive, so do not underestimate it.

On the other hand, why prefer AP over Phaser anyway? Call me old-school but I like to actually hit my targets and not giving funny shots across the bow.

Some time. the main thing is if you have to rebuy all the gear on your ship. if it takes 3 consoles and at least 6 weapons to switch over to phasers then no. if your goal is to deal with spam (Fighters/heavy torps) then no.

If we are talking about it being on a shuttle for the vault event then yes you should try to stick with phasers.

There is nothing wrong with phasers and if you want to phaser console with the mpc then go for it.
