Do you ever just feel like you aren't wanted?
I've not been thrilled with the state of PvP for quite some time and finally got tired of taking my frustrations out on other players. Its debatable their fault for taking advantage of Cryptic's poor decisions, bad mechanics, general ineptitude and neglect. But I digress.
I spent something close to a month logging on to Doff and collect Dilithium only. I figured that if things ever turned around for the better I wouldn't be too far behind, or that eventually I'd have enough zen to buy this godforsaken company and... and... I'm getting off track again.
So after about a month of PvP abstinence I queued up and accepted a Cap and Hold pop. Lo and behold, the Capture points bug out. That's only been an intermittent issue since lauch. I spend the next hour farting around trying to convince my federation counterparts to allow the KDF to capture a few points so it'll start moving again. While it was fun TRIBBLE around and talking smack I didn't have time for more that night. The Doffs were calling me back!
Over the next couple of days I found my way into 5 or 6 more FvK matches, all of them Cap and Hold because that's just what happened to pop first. All of them were full of Carriers and Siphons, or Bug teams, or AFKers, or just flat out uneven numbers. It's really one of those situations where the more things change the more they stay the same. When I got irritated all I had to do was quantum slipstream over to the ol' Starbase for a little of decorating and micromanagement.
Does it seem odd to anyone else that the most engaging thing about this game is the part that lets you click a few buttons and then do something else completely unrelated?
Of course, they really did a number on my precious doffs last week when they decided it was in fact a good idea to "fix" Fleet Doffs so that they couldn't be used in Fleet Projects. The sweetest part had to be that those doffs were indistinguishable from the others. Hurray for the exchange! I've always enjoyed the standard "working as intended" line but this has been a special case. Nevertheless, I was looking forward to them correcting this issue in today's patch. I even attempted to use positive reinforcement and bought some stuff in the zen store!
So there I was. I started queuing up again. I patronized their z-store. And what do I get!? I'll tell you what I get. I get some kind of Autoupdate Launcher error that fails twice and says "NO STO FOR YOU!" In the past when this has happened I've been able to use the Star Trek Online.exe files shared by other players to replace my own and kick start the connection. I don't know if it's been a placebo or what that has always seemed to correct the problem. Until now.
Now here we are. I've told you all of that so as to now ask you this, if someone wouldn't mind sharing a copy of their little 8MB launcher so I can try to find one that might maybe just possibly hopefully but unlikely work I'd really appreciate it. Or any kind of advice really. PC Tech Help has been a bust but you guys are smart and I

you so I know you'll save me!

Yet Another Borg Mission
It's terrible but easy, and these Borg are way cooler than the mess STO and Voyager left us.
May not actually be "way" cooler or even "slightly" cooler.

Launcher autoupdate fails and from that moment your launcher is corrupted and Always fails to launch.
Only solution: replace the launcher exe with a working one (9mb), or reinstall the game (20gb download, good luck).
It happens with all Cryptic games, btw.

But hey, it is working a intended right... so all is smooth sailing.
While I have never had that particularly problem, every time it happens to someone else, I can't help but think their computer is trying to tell em something.
Thank you!
I am in no way surprised that yet another Cryptic problem has been solved by members of the community who are both more familiar with Cryptic's failures and more helpful. The next time this happens I'll know to come here and ask you guys rather than waste time with tech support or talking to my ISP.

Hope it doesn't happen to me.
My last PvP Arena match before I left was fun and bugged free (relatively speaking) and I was looking forward to more.
