So, I'm back again, with more "you should know this" questions.

Lets look at a Hypothetical (IE I'm pulling this out of my TRIBBLE) Beam array, it activates 1 time then has a 3 second cool down to complete one cycle. on that activation it fires a salvo of 3 phaser blasts

Now to calculate the odds of the proc do we say that:

A) one weapon has 1 2% chance to proc in the 4 seconds?

OR B) does it have 3 2% chances or a ~5.88 chance of procing in the 4 seconds because each blast in the salvo has a proc chance?

If it is A, is there somewhere that lists the weapon types, the number of activations and cooldown time per cycle?

If I'm not mistaken and based on what I have observed, the proc is based on hit. So a cannon/turrets which has more hit per cycle will get the proc off more often. I noticed it on my engineer toon, I use a cruiser and a carrier escort both equiped with phasers. The cruiser is a beam boat and the escort a cannon boat (with 1 DB). I noticed the phaser proc get off lots more with my escort than my cruiser.

So the more individual hits the more often the proc will go off. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

    It is 'A'.

Tests have been done, and it is 'A' for the most part. Slow firing weapons (DHCs for example) have been confirmed to have a proc 'bonus' that allows them to get the same exact number of procs over time as the faster firing DCs.

In the end though 2% is still not often enough to really concern yourself with sadly. Unless you pvp atleast.
