How to tell if DOFFs usable for Starbase?

Is there any current means of determining which DOFFs on the Exchange will be usable for Starbase projects vs the ones that are un-usable? If not, then are there any plans by the developers to make them distinguishable, or are we meant to not know?

    You buy one and test to see if you have wasted your money....

    (Sorry for the stupid answer, but that is what this stupid problem that is "working as intended" dictates I give as a response)

    Thanks. I was wondering if anybody had any info on whether specific races or names were generally "safe" or not.
