Looking for a casual, friendly fleet

Hi,

I'm looking for a fleet to join.
Who am I:
I'm a 38-year old casual player from the Netherlands. I play at irregular hours: Some weeks I play every night, some weeks I don't play at all. I've been playing STO since FTP, and with the arrival of season 6, I think it's a good time to join a fleet.
I have 3 characters: a human science officer (50), a human engineering officer (50) and a Klingon tactical (46). At the moment, I mostly play the engineering officer, and the Klingon (I love Battle Cloak!). I still have a character slot left, and I think I will use that for a Federation tactical officer.
I've been spending most of my time on playing the main story line, dilithium grinding and DOFF assignments.

What am I looking for:
I'm looking for a casual fleet, without too many rules, and a friendly player base. Although I have almost 300 hours of playtime, I still consider myself a newbie, and there are still a lot of things about STO I want to learn. I would like to try some STF's (but with people who understand I've never done them, I don't want to ruin a STF for anyone by messing up.), I would like to participate in the building of the starbase, but I also want to be able to play on my own if I want to.

Any fleets think I would fit in, please let me know.

Thanks for reading this.

Good morning. I hope you will take a moment and consider the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet. We are a small but great fleet. We are easy going, dedicated and friendly. We all come from different backgrounds and have different ways of doing things, but that?s part of what makes us great.

Anyone in our fleet is happy to help others when needed, in almost any aspect of the game and in some cases RL. We have a fleet TeamSpeak3 server that we use for voice chat not just in-game but also to hang out as well and get to know each other better (not required, just available). Many of us are located on the East Coast and Midwest (USA), Europe and now even parts of the Middle East. :D

Although I say our fleet is dedicated, we also realize that everyone has lives as well, so when you need to take the time, you don't need to be concerned about losing your position within the fleet due to RL too. We do not discriminate against such things because we understand that sometimes real life issues and problems can take time to resolve, and that some time is needed to sort things out.

So please, think about joining and moving with us into 2410 armed with the best Intel, the most specific and targeted body of knowledge about STO, and a group of Fleet-mates who will be there with you in the crunch.

    The Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet

    Live Long and Prosper!

If you would like additional information on the [VKF] please don?t hesitate to contact me or any of our members.

    Hi dhoffryn13
I am thinking that because of your age you are looking for more of a mature player base where there is no drama and the silliness and the pop culture references are from the 80?s and 90?s.

The TOS Veterans is a marure fleet made up of people in their 30?s, 40?s and beyond and we have a casual relaxed attitude where "social" is more important than the game.

We have no bosses and no rules, and nothing is mandatory and players can come and go on their own schedule. We have most of our player base in North America but we now have quite an active UK side (including another dutch player:) the fleet. Since we are also all adults a lot of us work shift work or long hours so there always seems to be a good group of people on at every given time.

As for being a newbie this game changes weekly and they are always changing and adding new things to the game. We are all in the same boat. We have a good mix of experienced players and new players and we have tried to have some of the more experienced players focus their skills in a certain area so that we can have experts to help if they are needed.

If you get a chance please check out our website at tosfleet.com and see what we are all about. If anything we are all about fun and socialize while playing a game that is based around something that we all love and cherish? Anything Star Trek!

    Heya,

As there are many good fleets to consider, The United Factions fleet might also be what you are looking for. We are hardworking members that are relaxed, casual and most of all very friendly and funny.
Our base is at the brink of reaching Tier 2.

We have people from all around the world, tho most are US and EU based. We are currently reactivating and rebuilding the fleet in multiple ways.

We have around 50 active members while the rest is taking a break or inactive for the time being ( one reason is tour of duty in afghanistan). Since you have a Klingon character, Id like to mention that we have teamed up with an allied fleet for a joint run Klingon fleet, that might get larger by inviting other Fed fleet players that also have Klingon characters without a good fleet.

And if that isnt enough :P we got a few dutch players including myself in the fleet.

    Please pm any of the 3 fleet leaders;
Saphentis@Saphentis, Dave Pearson@buster84 or Med@MED0164 for an invite or just information.

    met vriendelijke groeten,

    Saph

Sounds like you'd be a great fit for the {UFP}! We have casual players, hardcore players and even a couple you might consider rabid players (but don't worry, they haven't bitten anyone yet). We are a worldwide fleet, so there should be someone hanging around when you are. Check us out by clicking my siggy below. Hope to see you around space!

    Hello dhoffryn,

You might be interested in checking out my fleet, The Wise Guys. We currently have about 10-15 active members and some casuals. We're always looking to increase our numbers however. We're stable and have been around for awhile but we're also not so big that you would need to worry about getting lost in the crowd. We are a tight-knit group and really do get to know everyone in the family. We have few rules other than just have fun and treat everyone else respectfully.

Here is where we are currently at with our Starbase at the time of this writing: http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k246/treasurem_1975/screenshot_2012-08-17-08-26-54-1.jpg

Military (We should be unlocking the T3 Upgrade in a couple days) - 45,310 Military XP
Engineering (Tier 2 assignment Upgrade unlocked) - 25,310 Engineering XP
    Science (Tier 2) - 27,310 Science XP

We hold regular fleet contests like the one currently running here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=4679201&postcount=22

Hello, I would like to encourage you to consider Broken Wings (Fed) and Shattered Wings (KDF). We are a fairly small fleet, but we have a big heart.

    Thanks for all the replies!

I've had a quick look at fleets, and truthfully, they all seem like great fleets to join.
But unfortunately, I can join only one. I will take a more in-depth look at them, and then make a decision about which one to join.

Again, thanks to all for the replies.
