KDF Uniform Questions

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions about uniforms for my Orion Sci.

1. I recently received the 200-Day Veteran Uniform. Is this option only available for the Fed side?

2. I've also recently purchased the "Formal" off-duty set. Is the Klingon faction limited to Uniforms only? I have five uniform slots, and on every one of them the option at the Tailor to switch between Uniform, Off-Duty and Formal is not lit up to be clicked on. I had planned to put my Orion in a nice, pretty dress but was unable to access this option at two different tailors. BTW, I must mention that she is level 38, not sure if the toons level has something to do with this.

Thanks for your help :)

The KDF has no off duty clothing options. So far. The restrictions are faction or race specific rather than by level. For example, I cannot use Orion Gauntlets with my Klingon officers. The color palette is not as diverse either. However, some people have been quite imaginative in using the outfits which are available. The majority of the clothes options are free. So KDF uniforms which are a match for those seen in the series and films are easy to make. Since there are so few options overall, you'll hardly ever see a Tactical Easter Egg, Glitter Rock or Disco Captain in the KDF.

I am not complaining here, just helping. IMO, KDF having fewer clothing choices makes it easier to immerse myself when I play tlhIngan. There are days when the crowds at ESD looks like an Eighties Hair Band collided with the Village People, rofl. Have to play with some sort of eye shield firmly in place when I go there.

To some degree you are right, the uniform options make the KDF more realistic and easier to immerse one's self within, however the few options allow for very limited customization which also hampers the effort of creating a personal and unique character for yourself. All in all, more hairstyles would be nice and some more realistic boots, right now we either get the ugly spiky ones or these leather ones that look really small when used.

You may find the Klingon Uniforms section of Blackavaar's Guide to Canon Colors very helpful.

It shows many of the canon (or as close to canon as possible) colors and styles used by in the various series and movies and how to emulate them.

It's not specifically meant as a guide to creating off-duty or non-canon outfits. But knowing what the rules are is sometimes very useful in knowing how and to what extent you need to break them to come up with something memorable.

Forgot about the boots thingie. More boots would be nice. But the rest is just more complaining. Already far too much complaining around here. And not nearly enough helping when someone asks for it. If you want to help, then help. Otherwise, sod off.

Almost as bad as something that SoapBox fella would post.

Just stating my opinion relevant to the discussion, I know I'm not the only one with that opinion so its good that it is heard by others so they are not alone... What is it that you are trying to do...

I would like to see an assortment of costume chocies added to the KDF. Especially the Dahar Master Longcoat and some of the more casual wear we saw in DS9 episodes that involved Kor.

I totally agree, we seriously do need some more options, gets rather boring using the same few costumes over and over. I would also like to see KDF Aliens and Joined Trills to be able to use the Orion, Gorn and Naucassian costume options.

I did find that for the Veteran Uniform, there is a set of shoulder armor available, which I equipped on one of my outfit options.

Thanks for all the responses. It would be nice to have had a pretty dress for Nerien, but I guess you can't have everything in life.

The TOS Bundle give you the option to use the TOS klingon uniform. Is a nice option to use, with or without the klingon academy uniform.

Or can have the luck or money to spend to buy stuff from the lobi store. Skirts (in the exchange) and scarfs are the options for now

Yeah more options on Uniforms would be nice. As it will give more looks compared to similar to everyone else. However I do like the "Species" variations. As it gives them their own unique looks. Like my Gorn, Orion they don't even look like my Klingon. So my crew has their own looks that is for sure.

I would like to see off duty uniforms. So I can wear something other than the regular uniform.

Thanks for the heads up about the TOS Bundle. That is one future purchase I plan on getting. And to see what all it offers.

I thought the TOS Uniform came standard for the KDF, I can't really say yay or nay as I have the bundle myself.

It does. The TOS Bundle is Fed-only.
The KDF TOS uniform lacks proper boots though.
