As the Sovereign is my favorite Cruiser I'll certainly buy it - and the fact that I can buy it with free Zen just makes it all that much more appealing.:)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
As for the ship I have to say that I really love the "classic" sovereign, I like a lot the design of the assault cruiser Cryptic has ingame and I like a lot the dorsal view of this new Sovy... although I'm not so sure about the ventral view... maybe it's because of that particular screenshot.
Anyway I can't wait to see it fly around to check it out ^^)
I am really looking forward to the details for the Sovereign refit.
The concept looks ok, although I would prefer the classic sovereign design.
I tried to stay in my Sovereign as long as I could, but its fire power is limited for an 'assault cruiser' and is bested by the 200 year old Excelsior Retrofit.
So I had planned on using my Excelsior until the refit comes out. Hopefully the Tac bridge officer station will be a Lt Cmdr.

Star Trek: Online - Now with 100% more dinosaurs!!
P.S. I actually like the new design quite alot... Of course, this is coming from seemingly the only fan the Jupiter Dreadnaught and Imperial assault Cruiser Costume have on the whole forum, so take that for what you will.
I'm just waiting for the inevitable inclusion of the JJ Abrams constitution class to the C-Store. :P
I know it's going to happen. Just a matter of when.
For that to happen Cryptic would need to get permission from CBS, Paramount, and Abrams. CBS, probably, isn't an issue but Paramount and Abrams would probably want to be compensated for allowing that to happen. That's probably not the best place Cryptic could be spending money.

Nevertheless, gut feeling is that ship is going to show up here eventually. ;p And don't get me wrong. Its individual parts are certainly good looking, but the whole package is a badly proportioned mess.

I don't get too caught up in appearances. Those things are subjective to the individual. I remember when TNG came out the BBSs were loaded with nerd rage over how ugly the Galaxy was: how it had an over-sized saucer and looked like it was going to fall over.
The various Trek series have never really been about the ships, anyway. The series are really about the crew and adventures. Insurrection and Nemesis wouldn't have been any better or worse if the Enterprise was another Galaxy Class.

In movies, I can see it. At least to me, though, with a series the ship becomes as much a character as the actors in the scene. At first, I didn't like the Galaxy class but it grew on me after a while. It ended up becoming as much a staple of the show as Picard to the point that its destruction in Generations was a real bummer.
I'm sure that in time this new Abrahms Consitution will grow on me as well sooner or later, I just don't think I want to see it in the game even though I have an inkling suspicion that I will.
Anyway, on the slight off-topic subject of Ships as Characters, it's a concept I'm looking to explore when the Foundry comes back up. :P

I do NOT want to see that U-G-L-Y abortion of a ship that JJ actually somehow tries to pass off as a "Constitution". Hopefully this this NEVER makes it in game.

As I said above, there was a time when many people called the Galaxy an "ugly abortion of a ship" when they compared it to the Connie and Excelsior back in '87. Artistic likes and dislikes are all subjective.

It is based on the original designs for the Enterprise E by John Eaves. You can view it here;

I liked some of those concept designs. Particularly this one. Be nice to see it in game.
