Just one player was mentioned? If it was indeed only one player, I agree that sounds awfully shady.

I don't see anyone else mentioned... there's no way he did it by himself (without cheating, that is). That seems pretty suspect to me.

arent there 10 waves in the NWS? The system announcement directly above that said he beat wave 8.

People beat it on Tribble. (Though it was slightly easier then) So beating it is possible, but yes, where are the other players?

Yeah, and then the development team intentionally made NWS even harder before it was released to holodeck.

You know it could be that Cryptic have a bug that only one player is mentioned, for all we know he could have been the squad/team leader which is why only he was mentioned. Let's not start flinging accusations of foul play just because it doesn't seem right to us.

Actually there were several other people mentioned by the PA, making it to wave 8/9 but not 10.

well it is possible that the other 4 died in the last wave and he was lucky enough to get the final kill.

do you still get the accolade if you're dead and your team wins the wave?

I'd hope so... that would be terribly cruel if it weren't the case...

Two more guys just did it again... I got the names and the messages recorded...

The real question is... WHEN does the broadcast messages go out? As it is going on or all of them at the end?
These two guys beat 8 and 9 within the same minute and then won it the following minute...

    Definitely sounds super shady...

    Yes, I'm very serious.

It's funny to win the No-Win is actually cheating to win it. So should they get banned or get a commendation for original thinking? ;)

I was thinking the asked thing! Considering that the original person to beat the no win scenario used what some would call a cheat/exploit.... Minimally original thinking (wave 9 title)...

Remember, discussing exploits, whether speculation or not, on the forums is against the rules. If you need to report an exploit, please file a GM ticket.

I've forwarded this thread along to the Dev team.

Seems that No Win Scenario has officially failed, and the value of getting to higher waves is now basically dropped to Zero.

The whole mission is a big joke haha.

Kirking the no-win ftw. Although it's obviously something that'll have to be changed. It must be nice having such a helpful gaming community to find all these things out.

    Not by legit means. :P

When you win, apparently your name gets announced across the server and you win......a little extra Fleet Points and a new accolade title.

Of course they will fix that exploit. Though the question of how fast the team will do it. Because once word gets out, everyone is going to rush to get the titles before the fix is put into place.

Which begs the question if people will keep the accolades or if the honor will be taken away?

While that's a valid concern, I'm betting it's the sudden influx of fleet marks upsetting what's no doubt a very carefully planned fleet star-base timetable that they'll want to stop, as this grind's probably meant to last us until the next batch of endgame content so we still have something to hold our attention. I'm not going to comment on how it's done, but a yield of 360+ fleet marks an hour per person's not unlikely. The unconquerable has become eminently farmable.

Simple solution - remove fleet marks from higher rounds (and tone back the difficulty insanity since the only reason they had it that way was because it was geared for most people not to get past level 5). Winning should be about or slightly more difficult as elite STF optional -- which is still in the very slim minority of players, but not lock box ship odds.

ahh to bad. for a second i thought that cheating the NWS was a canon reference, and a nice gimmick. To bad that this will be "fixed" because of FM concerns.
