Does anyone know if there are any plans to add more TOS model ships to the one already available(presently the constetution class cruiser) Maybe a Saladinr class destroyer or something?
Doubt it. The TOS Connie made it in because it is a Star Trek icon; but most people probably don't even know about the other ship classes of that era. Besides, since they do have the TOS Connie in game, the Saladin would be very easy to cobble together; I'd think they'd have done it by now if they were going to do it at all.
A further problem is that all the other TOS ships are non-canon -- meaning CBS doesn't own them, someone else potentially does, and CBS is probably reluctant to bring what was originally "unauthorized" fan material into STO. The single-nacelle destroyer and scout ships, the three-nacelle dreadnought, and the saucer-and-nacelles towing the train of cargo pods designs are all from the Franz Joseph Star Fleet Technical Manual, which has been in an odd place with respect to Trek canon for decades. Lots of those designs are associated with the Star Fleet Battles universe these days, which is practically its own IP separate from Star Trek proper by now. I'd also love to see some of the fan designs from the Movie era, but again, that's hard for the same reasons.
I think one of the main reasons that we wont see many more TOS ships is because at the time STO is set.. those ships are antiques more than anything.
Miranda which has been around the TOS movies time is barely in the game as a starting ship, Oberth another VERY old ship is a base ship too. As for the NX? that is mind boggling how it would be in the STO universe.
While i know people would like to play in ships that look cool from the TOS era, having them in a time where the ships are better suited as MUSEUMS doesn't sit right.
(yes things can be refitted, but how many wooden ships do you see serving as ocean liners/battle ships these days :P)

If that is the case. Why they using an Excelsior Class for a T5? That ship is old and outdated, by most standards. Shouldn't that be used as more a Lv 20-40? But they offer it on the C store for T5. That class of ship is a almost 100 years old by the time of the Domion War ended. So by this games time, well it would be 100 years old give or take. Why at that level I would be in a outdated ship? Where I can be in the Odyssey or Sovereign class for an example. Which is far more advanced in all areas. Instead of stuck in a century year old worn out ship class.

I like the idea of a "Vintage mission" for a special. Where you have to use the older ships for a special event or something. That would be something worth while, and I would do it. So that way you can use older ships of a certain vintage. Get to have some fun with them. And you can make the ones saying its too old etc for T5 group happy. Its a win for everyone.

Keep in mind that the Excelsior was refitted into the Lakota in DS9. The Lakota fought the Defiant to a virtual standstill. So while it's true that the Excelsior probably shouldn't be a T5 ship it's certainly no 100 year old pushover.
Of course with T6 ships on the eventual horizon the T5 Excelsior will eventually go the way of the dodo.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Fleet ships are as Tier 5 as the Odyssey and Bortasqu.
While I would go so far to say any ship you get at L40 is a T5
Any ship you buy from the Z-Store is T5+ (As in plus a special Console for that ship only)
And the new Fleet Variants are T5C (T5 now with a bonus Console slot)
If you have a Tactical Escort Retrofit and you buy the Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit, you now have the T5C+, but your going to get creamed by a guy in a Patrol Escort if he has a better build than you.
I do see new Z-Store ships being built to a T5C standard.

Well the KDF have the D7, that's original series. and you can get it as a tier 5 fleet ship!
That has a very stange reason:
When he was still working for Cryptic back in the old forums CapnLogan once asked the KDF crowd if they could explain to him what the difference between the D7 and the K't'inga was.
So the reason the D7 is now a T5 ship is because the people at Cryptic don't know there is actually a difference between it and the K't'inga like there's a difference between the old Connie and the movie version.
Hence they made them different skins of the exact same ship.
And it seems CBS didn't notice or didn't care enough to tell Cryptic to put the D7 into another tier...

Scotty: [muttering] Bunch of old, useless garbage!
Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge: Huh?
Scotty: I say it's old, Mr. La Forge. It can't handle the interface of your power converter. This equipment was designed for a different era. Now it's just a piece of junk.
Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge: Well, I don't know, it seems like some of it's held together pretty well.
Scotty: Century out of date. It's just... obsolete!
Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge: Well, you know, that's interesting, because I was just thinking that a lot of these systems haven't changed much in the last 75 years. This transporter is basically the same system we use on the Enterprise. Subspace radio and sensors still operate under the same basic principle; impulse engine design hasn't changed much in the last 200 years. If it wasn't for all the structural damage, this ship still might be in service today.
Scotty: Maybe so. But when they can build ships like your Enterprise, who'd want to pilot an old bucket like this?
Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge: I don't know. If this ship were operational, I bet she'd run circles around the Enterprise at impulse speeds. Just because something's old doesn't mean you throw it away.

I don't really get the people who get their pants in a wad over old ships being in game. Starfleet does have the capability to "upgrade" said ships, it's not like they'd still be using the hull plating, sensors, shields, etc. from 100+ years ago. Even the NX is listed as a re-design with the latest Starfleet tech, so they aren't the same ships techincally, they are just re-using the designs. The older designs might be easier to build even with the newer hull materials and tech, and it's much easier to churn out more smaller ships with upgraded tech than it is to build a bunch of Odysseys.
I know this has nothing to do with the game, but if you go by the movies between the old and new, it just doesn't seem like they build them like they used to. The Enterprise-A could take an absolute pounding, but it seemed like in the films the Enterprise-D and E were in shambles after only a couple of torpedoes or energy weapon blasts. Of course most of that probably had to do with the running joke of Riker taking command of the ship, anytime that happened it was guaranteed choas and damage to the ship. Always thought that was hilarious how the one time Crusher gets to fill in as captain she does fine against the Borg and brings the ship back in one piece yet anytime Riker is in charge the ship gets trashed, lol.
