Captain Stahl has ordered Kestral to "LET them die!"
I fail to see how she could have said anything meaningful for Klingons, other than reminding them that their Season 7 content will be rehashed Fed content once again.
STO: @AGNT009 Since Dec 2010
Capt. Will Conquest of the U.S.S. Crusader
Thanks Gates of Sto'vo'kor - a cool interview with good banter.
Hearing Kestral is sitting on 25 Borg episodes makes my mouth water at the thought of how many non-Borg episodes she has drafted. I'd simply love to see more of her work in game. Personally, I'd like more smaller missions that are lore rich over featured episodes with explosions and cutscenes.

Agreed. Honestly, the Borg are one of my least favorite enemies in Star Trek (not just STO), so if she has anywhere near that number of non-Borg missions in mind, it will be a very nice thing.
If it comes down to a choice between very few FEs or more variety of smaller, lore-rich missions, I'd prefer the latter as well. I definitely enjoy the FEs, but it sounds like they require more resources than regular story arcs. If so, I'd rather have more arcs overall than one or two FEs. I don't need new tech and such for every new story; there are so many existing assets that seem to go to waste.
I like the pod cast. One of the reasons why stoked shut down was because of all the negativity spit out on it. Like the old adage says if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything. Stoked wanted sponsors to advertise on a show they continually put the product down. What if i had sponsors for track team, but i said all the players were slow and were injured the sponsors would pull out immediately. Why not say these players are doing the best they can and we believe they have a chance to win. Maybe just maybe some unnoticed phenom would win the race in record time. Pick out the good stuff and if you don't like something leave it out. These forums are the same you concentrate on the negative and never see the good. What you do with your negativity is stunt the creative process and you reduce confidence. Like Bart Simpson would say I say, Quote "put a sock in it."

Real life kept me from being a true part of the interview, meaning I had a work assignment just before the the interview started and finished just after it ended.
In the end, it has been a rare treat actually hearing the episode of Gates without knowing what is coming next.
All I can say this time around is .... Kestrel ... You are my new hero.
Heck, I'm even placing you on the throne ABOVE Tacoboy and the dynamic ship building duo!
::: raises a mug of bloodwine ... "To Kestrel! ... One of the greatest Lore Singers of the Empire!"

Easier said than done... telling fabrications of the truth is dishonorable although the people behind stoked have my respect since they are Honorable Warriors and are respectful as they reported the truth on how things really are and have my Tova'dok as well as many Warriors of the Empire.
Loved the EP. the interview with Kestral was awesome...I enjoy listening to GoS'v'k... continue the good fight for the KDF and continue to bring much needed KDF news and info...:D
TBH I didn't get any indication from the interview that would sway me to believe anything is coming. Although I got the vibe off it that the person being interviewed would love to work on the KDF. Other than that I also got the feeling that there is not really any hope for it ever being given a green lite to work on it LOL.
Although in one game I used to play it could use a similar system which is sort of how the officer of the watch works if they wanted to take small steps towards giving the empire the kind of content it needs/deserves.
Basically having a character go to a NPC and join a specific organization within the faction where you have random dailies that over time could be changed by an author to give a more true "State of the Game".
That podcast is pure joy. Not just the playful and jubilant presence of the hosts, but the vibe that the KDF is on the ascent. I believe that Cryptic's KDF policy is to under promise, and over deliver. It is my sense that something awesome is happening, and it is us.

I wish I knew where you got this vibe or sense something awesome is happening for the KDF. The comments such as cut and not even getting past the planning stage as well as the statement of that they are not currently working on anything for the KDF kind of put me off as nothing is actually coming.
All the what if's were nice yea we all think about them on the KDF side but I hardly doubt they will see the light of day and that's the message that came across to me...
The vibe is from little things like the KDF starbases, which are excellent.
Starting the year with a new, and well made episode for the KDF, and it is an amazing experience from the start.
KDF related podcasts such as this are continuing to receive high profile in the Federation News Network tells me that Cryptic wants for people to be excited about the KDF. Why?
As much as I hate to make this analogy, a huge part of the perennial MMO winner, World Of ********, has to do with the development of the Horde as a full faction. Cryptic, and certainly Perfect World is going to seize the opportunity to give STO the expanded appeal of player option that are afforded by (at least) two developed factions with a wealth of lore.
It's true that the KDF glass is half empty/full, but Cryptic is still dropping ice, and pouring occasional blood wine into it. They must want someone to drink!

I was just looking at it from a logical perspective where the statement was any content for the KDF was in the planning stages and that they were cut and as you stated they did very well with the interview on emphasizing different Q&A.
The other part is where they asked if anything was currently being worked on and the answer was "No". After that it went quickly into "What If" scenarios *if* the Great Loresinger was able to do with the KDF as she pleased . That was the great part of the podcast but in all being that it is something to be left to the imagination we could do the same thing just walking around the great hall daydreaming.
TBH as well the mmorpg you are refering to they didn't come up with that on their own. During the late 80's and through the 90's people had online games referred to as Muds which those were copied into what we now know of as mmorpgs (to people like me who were avid gamers even back then they didn't do much to impress me unless they could come up with some new concept I have never come across before).
The problem I have with which ever standpoint of either company when it comes to the KDF is that they put little work into it besides what we have right now. They refuse to do anything more for it because its not making them as much money as the other side. As well most players I try to get into the KDF have stated they refuse to play something that is unfinished so it does not tarnish their experience of the game as they play it as it unfolds for them.
At this point to for those of us who have supported the KDF we own just about everthing there is to own from the KDF side but... Like some people are like wow a new ship to buy... We do not even have that theres been like 5 or so federation ships to come out shuttles included but not one thing for the KDF since the bortasqu'.
I just do not see at all based on all the facts that lay before me that they want people to get "excited" over the KDF or to make them even want to play it. The only factor for people that currently play it is that they are true fans of the Franchise and LOVE the Lore of the KDF.
I'm vocal but I'm just being real and call it as its laid out I don't sugar coat it because sugar does not go good with live gagh.
Edit: A little late but... I find this a little insulting, odd, and just purely baffled why a podcast about the KDF, and with the dev/writer/loresinger/etc about imaginary KDF content that will never see the light of day is in a Category called the... By the Hand of Kahless... "FEDERATION NEWS NETWORK".
Comments
This should be short ...
I kid, I kid :P
I completely agree.
I shall make a point to not give you a mug of bloodwine when I by a round for everyone.

I don't care how long you've been playing. I only care about how you play.
And remember to follow the rules.
I love Klingon Lore... but no doubt even with kidding its so true. I don't really do the whole podcast thing but I am sure it went like this...
Hi Kestral...
Hi Podcasters...
So What is Klingon in STO? C-store, Pi Canis, More C-store...
Thanks for letting us have you on Kestral!
Errr, no. More than that, and if you don't like the beginning simply skip it.
Certainly worth listening to if you're into STO and the KDF.
I'll see about a transcript over the weekend.

I guess opinion varies from person to person
Although I'd rather have transcript... Seperated in categories of Greetings, Water Cooler Talk, and then Important Info.

The KDF side has learned that words carry little weight when it comes to content for the KDF. Actions speak louder than words
Lots of words, few actions...Maybe season 13?
I'd say season 113
