1) kdf marauding boff still not customizeable. Is it being worked on or "put away until the team gets time".
2) android boff class not customizeable. Is it still being worked on?
3) it took 1 1/2 years to create the engine for this game as well as all the art, design and over 50 episodes. All when the engine wasn't fully developed. But it takes 2 weeks to do each featured episode now. Numbers do not add up.
4) if the reason for Lockbox ships is because CBS doesnt want Feds to be all flying around in non faction ships, what is the reason for Lockboxes in the kdf? All there ships are non faction. So why not let the kdf just buy them outright?
5) customizeable kits? Still an option?
6) first officer as playable captain? Still on the table?
1) No idea, they really don't care about kdf any more
2) No idea
3) Reason for no more FE's is because they haven't found a way to monitise them, without charging outright for them yet. All the talk about return of investment indicates as such. Either no more free FE';s, or no more FE's at all.
4) Reason for lockboxes is to make as much money as humanly possible out of minimal development loads. This is just a way which CBS finds palatable.
5) Yes, but only when they work out how much to charge for the pieces in the z-store (Geko's comments on an interview indicative of as much)
6) Who knows. Maybe after they work out how much it will cost.
3) Reason for no more FE's is because they haven't found a way to monitise them, without charging outright for them yet. All the talk about return of investment indicates as such. Either no more free FE';s, or no more FE's at all.
So when they said at the announcement of f2p that they would have more money for featured episodes they actually never did the math? That is strange. I can't say things like that in my job.

But the reason for Lockboxes for the Feds make sence if you apply the "Feds flying around in hundreds of marauders" excuse. It doesn't work for the kdf side at all. It seems confusing.

1) Don't know
2) Yes
3) There are only 4 FEs each with 5 missions each in just over 2.5 years. That a bit more than 2 weeks per mission. You're numbers don't add up.
4) The reason for Lockboxes is PWE, ask them...... I suspect all their games have Gambling Items of one sort or another.
5) When were they ever an option? Beta maybe?
6) Yea, coming Soon right along with KDF PVE Content & an Complete and Balanced PVP System
3) it just doesn't make sence why they cannot have more fe's if they have shown that it doesn't take a long time to create an episode. If it is the most popular thing they have done with this game, and it continues the major storylines they have set out but it isn't monetizeable, why is it the fe's problem. Why isn't it the economic models problem. It seems confusing.
Especially since if it isn't done that way, the game is just an un star trek like grind for nothing. That can't be cryptics "vision" of this game.
The only answers I am getting to my questions are "dont know" or "cryptic is horrible"-like answers.
Is it the way I phrased the questions or what?
1. & 2. It's likely that certain BOFF customizations are being revamped / worked on along with costume additions and such fixes for the system - but BOFFs take backseat to PC's lead characters' needs and desires, so we'll see how it all progresses. There was talk from interviewees on our podcast from the dev department that updates related to all of these these were underway.
3. FEs aren't in the foreground right now due to Season 6 fleet bases. That was and still is a massive project requiring devs to work like mad to add upgrades and fixes. I know that some devs are dealing with double or triple work load to make it happen (two people who helped a lot left the company recently, and I believe that Cryptic is still looking to hire programmers). Some of those same devs, who are also capable and experienced story / content contributors, will hopefully be free again soon to work again on FEs and even one-shots (or short episodics). The company has not said that FEs or story-driven missions will go away. To add to that, the servers and core system that the game runs on will always be a work-in-progress. Times change, players demands and preferences change, Free-to-Play player numbers add far more distress to a system than Subscription-only player numbers do - and the company wants to see evolution and growth. STO isn't a "single purchase" console game, so there's a lot of opinions and demands to keep up with in order to stay relevant to the player base and for the company's game to survive year after year.
4. Lockboxes weren't created to maintain a low number of non-canon ships. This is only one of the uses for them. The main reason is to provide another source of revenue to the company.
5. I believe I remember hearing from someone we interviewed that customizable kits are currently being worked on and/or are desired by the game team to add to the game.
6. I remember hearing something about First Officer possible playability or stronger game and story inclusion. I believe this is also something being worked on presently.

There is a new zone coming with Season 7. I assume there will be a few Missions to do in that zone.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
