Hi Cryptic, since you <3 the pvp forums. We <3 you back.

How about this idea for STO...

Have a ships / powers preview weekend!

It'll be like double XP weekend, to attract people of all stripes into the game.

On some holiday weekend, have a preview where ANYONE can use ANY ship you have with ANY consoles/powers/goat cheese with NO cooldowns.

I feel this will attract people into buying said ships / consoles because they've now tasted the rainbow.

If Cryptic wanted people to be able to "try-before-you-buy" they'd put stuff into the C-Store on the Tribble server so people could try it first. But sadly they're money-grabbing fu*kwits that are here to make money, not be useful.

How dare you question the Cryptic mindset. They're super genius.

    Goat cheese needs a buff.
It lacks the Lactose Intolerance proc.

    Hahahahahahaaa

Then they'd have to put a Beeno debuff in the game too.

It is a good idea to allow people to ?try before you buy?? however, it is only a good idea when you allow people to try quality products!

Had I realized that the Vulcan Science ship didn?t have a unique bridge, I wouldn?t have bought it. Had I realized its support craft had no carrier commands, I wouldn?t have even wanted the ship. Yet, that is only one example. Thing is, people would get to try the half arsed TRIBBLE that they put out and then they?d realize that their money is better spent on Ice Cream.

I kind of like the Idea of them having a Preview Weekend.. OR month type set up similar to how Champions Online did a preview of some of the Archtypes. Where you could create a character, play the arch type for about a week, and then the arch type would deactivate and a new one would open up till the schedule ended.

The problem with the Idea, currently, is that there is no way to not allow some one who has Claimed a ship to be unable to fly it once it's claimed from what I can tell. But it is a Nice Idea.
You think that your beta test was bad?

An interesting idea. I like it. However sorry to put the downer on it. Until all the bugs are fixed that were introduced with season 6 anybody new to the game may think twice about staying. The game needs to be back in top form for you idea to work.
