Which explanation or lore for the symbol of the Klingon Empire is the most accepted by the Klingon fans?

The KHG Version (video)

The KA Version (video)

Thanks.

Both are non canon, but I prefer the KA variant.

As far as I know, none of the TV shows or movies have ever talked about what the symbol of the Klingon Empire stands for. So all we have is from stuff like the games.

I like the KHG one, it's more poetic like many klingon storys. (I get that Chang was just trying to make a point and didn't make a big story out of it.) The idea that 3 dagers are joined to make 1 fits because there are 3 clearly separate parts aspose to 1 weapon.

    Thanks.

Both fit well with the Klingon lore as I know it and have read and seen it in the IP.

    I prefer the KA version.

In the KHG version, the circle stands for 'honor' but the Klingon symbol sometimes appears without the circle, like in the KA video. In the KA version, Chang states that the middle blade stands for 'honor', so it's always there.

When Gowron said that Kahless drew a circle around the daggers, it appears as if he drew it before they were placed on the ground. Also, the two bottom blades look slightly curved but the daggers were not.

I've also been able to find some info about the original coloring of the Klingon symbol. The green and blue bottom blades actually stood for Romulus and Remus, signifying the alliance between the Klingons and the Romulans, while the middle blade stood for the Klingon Empire.

The early Romulan symbol on their ship also had the red, green, blue and yellow on it for the same reasons but the shape of the symbol was different.

The KA style is the better of the two.

The worst versions are distorted in design especially the bottom two projections, like the TAS trefoil, it's uneven and it looks horrible.

I like the TOS style as originally conceived by Walter ?Matt? Jefferies the best.

I like them both and I don't really see the two explanations as mutually exclusive. They are close enough that you could consider the KA one as the more pragmatic (and probably more realistic) while the KHG version is the more poetic (plenty of examples of that in Terran history).

I have to agree with daharmasterklag, though... I prefer the TOS version... more colorful.
