Good god people, all points for and against a T5 Constitution have been repeated so often most know them by heart. Yes, the Constitution is old and small, there are now tons of ships that are as old or older and as small or smaller at T5.
It doesn't matter anyway. Cryptic claims that CBS says no regardless of any logical reasons and I'm sick of this argument being always reduced to the Constitution when there are THREE ******n other skins for the T2 cruiser.
FKA K-Tar, grumpy Klingon/El-Aurian hybrid. Now assimilated by PWE.
Sometimes, if you want to bury the hatchet with a Klingon, it has to be in his skull. - Captain K'Tar of the USS Danu about J'mpok.
So you got what you wanted? Why are you bchin about what I want?
Mainly because it's horribly unrealistic and outside the scope of the game's intentions regarding timeline, plot, canon, and the license holder's own intentions.
Franchises should keep moving forward rather than stagnating. You think Star Trek as a franchise would be anywhere near as popular or interesting if it was just endlessly revisitng the TOS crew and ship? Hell. I've never even been a fan of the traditional saucer/hull/nacelles look. I prefer the Miranda and Nebula to the Constitution and Galaxy. I'm keeping my own personal opinion on that out of things as much as possible though.

Unrealistic? LOL. Ok come to my house in your Prometheus and I'll make you an amazing cheeseburger.

And this should be carved in stone and filled with gold. Well said.
I have nothing else to say. Scotty, beam me out of this thread.

I want to compete in High Level PVP with a Constitution Refit
I want to STF and actually make a Difference with a Constitution Refit
I want to do Red Alerts and actually make a dent with a Constitution Refit
I want to pull A constitution Refit out of Space Dock and actually kick TRIBBLE with it.
I want to Fight the upcoming Tholion and Iconian Threat with a Constitution Refit
The Excelsior is 14 years younger than the Constitution Refit. you can say BS like the one that faced the defiant was the Retrofit but if that ship can have a Retrofit as good as that than so can the constitution Refit without a bunch of futureists btching that its old and doesn't belong in our time. ANY ship belongs in this time. this is a Science fiction franchise. Insert Techonbabble here is just a good reason as any and CaptainGeko's own personal Opinion nor Citter will stop me from fighting for it. The franchise was built on that ship. Why the movie version can't even have an endgame competeing ship without BS like "taking away the t2 skin" is beyond anything trek.
Think of this game as a donut shop.
CaptainGeko just needs to put the chocolate filling from a Assault Cruiser in the hulldough of the Constitution refit. it isn't impossible. its a lazy solution. and we all know cryptic loves lazy solutions.
I don't want a POS Constitution Refit. I want one that matches the Fleet Science Vessel Retrofit and Fleet Escort Retrofit. Not a retro**** Because The license holders don't know that it will make them a ton more money. .
Man....denial is stong in the STO playerbase...kind of disturbing to think what ..meh I'm ending there before I get a BS infraction for stating a truth haha.
I love the ship as much as anyone, but let's be reasonable... she should not be able to be competitive with vessels 100 or more years newer.
I'm fully agree with an idea from a different thread and hope they start a "history shard" with the Connie as a tier 5 endgame ship. You start out in the NX and work your way up to her.
Stories could follow the Enterprise story arc through the Romulan Wars and ending in the TOS era, where the Connie would be master of all!
Yeah... no one is really discussing that. Stop trying to hijack the thread
You obviously werent paying attention, because if you actually read the post that captainbmoney was replying to, that is *exactly* what they were talking about. Sorry you are so confused

Nah I'm not confused nagus, and despite your usual posting style of 'know it all' and 'I am right and that is the end of the conversation' I remain, unconfused. Your little link doesnt change that. Nice try though.

Is this argument about bringing up the excal? If so, we are talking about the connie, so equinox has a point.

Your first paragraph above is an argument that is completely blown away by the fact that we have a Vulcan Sci ship and the soon to be Andorian Tac ship, both much older than the Constitution, currently in-game at high levels.
IMO..., It's basically become a BS reason from Cryptic about CBS saying no...
It's more likely They don't want to put up with the out-cry, when a seasoned STO Player uses a Connie to frack a Sovereign... even with poorer stats and abilities.
STO is a game that long ago, went beyond any kind of realism based on what might actually be in 2409.

That was my idea and I hope it gets more discussion around here to build interest in it.
Perhaps we can get a Dev to consider suggesting it as an idea for future development of the game.
They could quietly slip all the lower class ships into a separate TOS through ST:VI server (where they would reign supreme) and make all the "2409 Purists" ecstatic as well as all of us Connie Lovers.

See? I could get behind an all TOS server, I'd love to play on it. Its just the putting every era into a blender and hitting frappe that bugs me. We've already went too far down that road as it is.

No problem. If they add a T5 excal/exter you are perfectly free to *not* use it. I promise you it wont bother me one bit
