There is lightning outside. I wouldn't go there.

I had an unknown to be miswired/shorted out/whatever sound card that I put in my Packard Bell.

The backfeed took out the whole apartment and the computer caught on fire.

The electrician who got to rewire the house didn't believe me.

You know, this has me worried. I don't have a surge protector for my computer area. It's literally a two plug receptacle with my laptop and external hard drive plugged in. I unplug the stuff during storms, but lately all of the storms have been hitting at night when I'm asleep.

Good thing it was just your network card that got blasted. Losing everything on a computer to a freak lightning bolt sucks.

As an electrician, I'd believe it. I've seen some crazy stuff and heard some crazy stories. Like the water line that had electricity flowing through it.

Fixing that was a fun and painful day.
