State of PvP

In my honest opinion, the play of PvP is not broken. The mechanics of it work fine.

I remeber when I was at level 40 in PvP and owned everything that moved, then moved to rapidly to 50 so I could take on the best... The most epic fail ever.

I was demolished 0-12 against cruisers and science vessels.

It's the learning curve, you don't truely learn to be efficient in space till Vice Admiral. I admit when i was 40 I just hit every buff and skill that I saw open (even Engineer Team 2, I was a noob at 40).

If you could just set up a way for the mass to learn it, it would be so much easier.

Also, The maps seem a little bland (Space and Ground) don't get me wrong, hiding in an asteroid field is so much fun but other than that, it is just there. Add some effects from the surroundings, "Plasma Storm Radiation. Kill crew in this area" "Put nebulas in to slow down ships" or think of something new. Player vs Surroundings vs Player. So much more fun.

Now keep one of the simple maps for players who want a straight dogfight (Solarwind) but rid the others.

Another thing is a leaderboar. People are so competitive, it is in our blood. So this will make EVERYONE want to atleast attempt it. Right now when you play PvP you just win anywhere form 18k to 20k+. It has no motive for it, no proper reward for doing it. If Cryptic does this right it could become another spot on STO of great area income for them so everyone wins.

These are just to start it off, once the ball gets rolling, PvP could become bigger than STF (Only one can dream).

1) Teamwork and timing is #1
2) You cannot "Kirk It" in every ship
3) You are going to die, just get back up

i agree with most of that....

except for the solar wind map. with the amount of pet spam out there it it wrecks most player's graphics cards. i know its not just me, my card is just average, i hear this from guys rocking top shelf cards too.

now a map like cracked planetoid offers wide open spaces, along with little nooks and crannies of planet to bounce around. my opinion is that should be what we look for in map construction, not the "asthetic" of particles filling the screen floating from left to right.

less clutter in the maps, less clutter being spouted from hangars.

and yes, leader boards would rock.

    have fun kill bad guys
