so... i know you said there was no intention on changing the current balance between all the powers and whatnot....
but then why are new duty officers and ships being added that effect the balance? am i correct in assuming that the "no changes planned for immediate balance changes" applies to only fixing them? does this mean then that balance will only keep getting worse until the "overhaul" gets done?
do the other departments run anything that upsets game balance by you before they release it?
According to Dstahl's Priority One Interview, he is playing mixed level mixed faction pew pew at HQ. So you have nothing new to report (helllo mixed lvl???) and balance can't be addressed right now, yet new ships go straight to holodeck, and the doffs have zero testing and will wreck havoc with balance.

Everyone had predicted this TRIBBLE when PWE acquired Cryptic last year. It's just the way it will play out. PvEers who spacebar spam boring and horribly written singleplayer content continue to wreck PvP with their desire for phat loot.
Now let's just add an autocircling ship mod along with a couple of uber-awesome 30 second rsp doffs with hull damage mitigation to go along with it too.
the new doff abilities, I'm not so sure. We already have some strong doffs out there, adding new ones will force players to choose. Shorter CD on CRF, OR insta-shield-recharge. I think the doff effect is a nice feature, that allows heavy customization of ships, but they should all be balanced to have a real impact on gameplay. The more "op" doffs we have to choose between, the more balanced it will be!
As for devs considering balance, I don't think they do. at all. Maybe if they TRIBBLE it up bad enough, we'll get "Season 8 - Balance".... (only hope that it will be better than "Season 4(?) - Bug fixing"

I think you're right in a sense. Right now there are not Doffs available for every available Boff ability, these will go some way to helping alleviate that.
I wouldn't mind more Doff space slots with all these tasty Doff bonus' mind

Add to that, Whats up with the proposed buffing to the three ships (tweat leak)? Are we looking at an eventual across the board tweaking of the ships for PvP, or is this some ploy to sell more Cstore ships?
If its an across the board tweaking, thats cool as some vessels may need it since the Cstore ships started rolling out.
If its a tweaking to cstore ships to make them more purchaseble and appealing then I expect a retro-tweaking of all Cstore ships to be fair to those who have bought in the past.
I mean, if Cryptic is gonna sell P2W they might as well make it worth the $25.

The big deal with the CRF doffs are the fact that it makes engie/sci escorts that much better as its likely to let you just constantly cycle your single CRF3 like you have TI up, while still having the SS/Subnuc or Lulzhealz of a sci or engie.
I mean imagine a Galor or Excel that keeps FAW3 at the global... Talk about death to spam and then some.
Seriously, Excel with FAW2 or 3 and Beta 1 or 2... With the FAW being at global, maybe some pattern doffs to bring down the beta CD too. Total balance right there and totally isn't stupidly insane.
Or instead go with FAW doffs + Technicians since a cruiser can easily run aux2batt, lets not forget that with that combo you can push FAW BELOW global for likely literal back to back FAW's for there "burst".

Agreed MaiKai! With the current rate of unfun being produced (something new every other week it seems), there will be even less pvp'ers around to recommend the new pvp to anyone, and thus the effort may fail.
And though Beaker may be the best muppet around, Statler & Waldorf are the most appropriate muppets, well except maybe for Swedish Chef (because he calls it like it is too - Borked, Borked, Borked!)

IMO this is just the beginning of the true "Pay To Win" era and its only going to get worse
as more and more of the new ships that come to the c-store are just going to leave the
older ships obsolete, Which means if you want to stay competitive you going to have to
spend the money or just get used to getting rolled regularly.
And balance well thats a relic of the past................................................
