I read that lockboxes were not going away so I'm going to ignore everything positive in that article and repeat my dissatisfaction with them.

    *genuine, thunderous applause*

Well done Dan. Thanks for getting us back in the loop and giving us lots of great stuff to look forward to. To you and the rest of the team at STO, awesome job, and keep up the good work guys. :)

Awesome! Eagerly anticipating the KDF and Fed starbases. Tempted to play on a KDF one more, the fireplace looks so cozy :D

Wonder what the next fleet holdings are down the road. Perhaps Research Outposts and small colonies? :)

*EDIT* Time to try to see Morn talk for once... if I do, I will just explode.

Shortly after the update, and prior to the release of Season 7, we plan to add in official rewards and in-game UI for Foundry Spotlight missions.

This statement concerns me. Isnt there going to be 3-4 months between S6 and 7? If the Spotlight rewards are *truly* coming "shortly" after S6's release, why even mention S7 which is several months away? Is "shortly" just PR for "sometime before S7" or what?

While most of the article sounded great, this didn't:
"As far as lockboxes go, we have heard the feedback loud and clear and have already started to make adjustments to improve the way players can win those rare and exciting limited-time ships, such as the Jem’Hadar Attack Ship. While you will still see lockboxes in the future, we are making improvements to add more rewards and excitement when opening up new boxes in the future. This also will go hand in hand with an overhaul of the LOBI store. "

I stopped playing because of lockboxes, and if they're not going away, I doubt I'm coming back. Very disappointing, tbh, as I was hoping there would be an announcement about them being done away with. I hope the community here continues to voice their disdain for these dreadful cash grab lottery boxes and forces Cryptic to remove them permanently.

I do like what i see so far but i can't help but get a little upset about Lobi. I would like too see them removed all together. Everything else Looks really really good, can't wait for season 7

"shortly after S6 means the months following S6"

The software devs can begin working on the Foundry reward feature as soon as they are done with S6 tasks. We've already been planning to do this for some time, and as such the remaining "work" will be quick. So if S6 ships in July, then you may see Foundry Spotlight in Aug or Sept and that still leaves 3 months before end of the year (we have not announced when S7 is releasing other than before the end of the year).

We have heard the feedback and will be making changes to how players earn the rare limited time only ships. You've already seen a big change with the DS9 DOFF Promo. We will continue to tweak these offerings (as any retailer would) so that we strike the right balance with demand.

I just ignore the lockboxes lol. "You got a Jem'hadar Attack Cruiser, Galor Destroyer, and Ferengi Marauder on your first try? Congrats, now I'm going to cruise along in my Defiant"

While I don't think they're the best update ever, I just always do "pass" in STFs. I have noticed I have gotten a lot less in the game, so that's good, some loot drops have been balanced I believe.
Also, I heard many people are having this problem, foundry slots cannot be purchased, always "purchase failed", but I read that this was going to be fixed in or around Season 6, so cool cool cool as well.

Probably beam fire at will or things such as Tyken's Rift or Gravity well should help us get out of a tholian web.

Well, thanks for that info. It might be better to leave off the qualifier "shortly" though, if it might be a couple of months after :p

I'll continue to voice my support for them, thank you very much.

Good read Dan. Looking forward to the fleet stuff.

Will the Tholians Npcs do the web when there are X of their ships or will they only do it if Y ship is present ?

Prior to F2P, players would often need to grind non-episodic content in order to get to the next arc. Now that this has been addressed,

That's funny, because as of a few weeks ago, there was still grinding involved at least on the KDF side

They will typically target a single ship, but there is a chance more than one ship can get caught in the web.

Are you using the Duty Officer System? Data shows that since the DOFF system was added, this has helped greatly to help players get to max rank.

Before F2P there was a lot of talk(specifically from Stormshade) about the leveling system being too fast, and people being able to fully level with 'a weekend and a pack of red bull'. Yet, you guys actually made it faster. Whats the deal with that?

Nice article with a lot of good info to read through, this is encouraging

"The STO team continues to grow, and as such, our ability to tackle big issues increases week over week."

as it looks like they are bringing in more people /yay

In the Akira picture we see 2 poor defenceless Galor's being attacked by nothing less than Federation thugs, but what is the top ship above them?, its bigger than a Galor and has sort of 2 fins at the back, hmmmm

Keeping Lockboxes in atm /boooooooooo down with sort of thing....careful now (if you get that Irish based reference, get a cookie)

Oooo a new Sector, shiny cap'tn shiny

"Until next month, keep your shields up and start thinking about how you’re going to get out of that Tholian web…"

Brute strength and ingnorance normally works lol

That is a Galor infront of a Keldon Class (or it could be another Galor), their features are getting merged

You can see it better here

Ah cool thanks for that, could not see in the smaller pic , still does not make it better as its now at least 2 Galors and a defenceless Keldon being picked on, they are not even firing back, /cry , just shows how aggressive the Federation has become......

One of the Galors (the second one) appears to be holographic made by a Keldon. Maybe they caught the pictures between firing.

Heh, anyways this isn't the topic for that picture.

I think the question is how many Tholians does it take to make a web? Is it one web casting or multiple spinning the web like in TOS?
