I am not sure if this is the right place to post this on the forums but it seemed like the best bet.
I currently have a Gorn character who out of loyalty to his own race will only conduct colony assignments using Gorn colonists.
The end result is that I end up with a lot of surplus Klingon colonists and not enough Gorn.
Rather than just selling them on the exchange I thought I would make people an offer: I will give you two Klingon colonists for every Gorn Colonist you give me. Obviously I can only take so many but I do need a lot of them.
If anyone is interested contact me via in-game mail. Use:

Thanks in advance.

Gorn may have the agressive trait
Agressive is a negative trait in a colonist and that makes some Gorn far more valuable than Klingon ones.
Sorry but I'll decline this offer.
But that is taking it far. Use what colonists you got. Pretend their gorn if you must but it's not like anybody will be able to go up in character and look at your doff history, go "You sent klingon colonists out, you aren't truly pro-gorn anti-klingon!"
My Gorn recently got demoted from his Bortas, due to accounting irregularities on supplies sized during marauding. Especially as a items from the missing paper work then turned up in possession of the Gorn Separatist movement.
Last thing this guy now needs is to be "slave trading" Klingon's...
I will happily buy your aggressive Gorn if that is all you will sell me - they are never any better than Klingons. I would also be willing to trade my Orion or Lethean colonists if you want them. My Gorn character will not use those either. I simply don't have as many of those.
The Nausicaan colonists have aggressive AND unruly and so I will assume that you don't want them at all. Fortunately they don't come up often.
Also you should remember how the colony assinments work. For each colony assignment chain there are three assignments that require colonists, #2, #3, and #5. 2 and 3 are fairly sensitive to success levels (particularly #3) but for #5 if you use 5 Klingons you will have 100% success rate and a better crit rate than if you used 5 Colonists without aggressive and only one positive trait (like most Orions). The fifth assignment in the chain also uses the most colonists out of any of them, and provides 500 dilithium, even when you do the repeatable version of the assignment later. So Klingon colonists have their uses.
Also remenber that if you are just aiming for completion of the chains you don't need to succeed at the assignment - you just need to attempt the assignment. If you fail you still move on to the next one. So in this regard having lots of bodies is always good and you will need 168 colonists to complete all the chains.
I will know. That is enough.
Besides, the theme of the game is one of the things that makes it fun. Why shouldn't I immerse myself in it? It makes it more fun for me. So why shouldn't I try to make deals to help me achieve my goals? I've offered people a good deal so let them come.
I am sorry your Gorn got demoted. I will be happy to address the high council on his behalf. Gorn need to stick together, you know.
Of course, what we are doing is not slave trading; the Klingons will merely take passage on your ship rather than mine. Much honour is gained in delivering them safely to their destination. If you try to sell these passengers to the Orions that is your affair but I should warn you that Klingons make poor slaves.
I do not consider it honourable to sell those who have taken passage on my ship to slave traders, and only sell those prisoners taken in war who did not have the courage to die honourably in battle. I encourage you to do the same.

I think your best bet is to sell the ones you don't want, and buy the Gorn you want off the exchange. It's a pain in the butt to do, but since your only looking for Gorn just make a list of the names from STOwiki.
What? The guy really likes his race.
And for the record using Klingons instead of other races reduces your chances for these mssions, but not by a lot. If you did this all the time the Klingons would likely only cause 1 or 2 extra failures out of 28 mission attempts.
And as to why, well the big payoff is at the end of the chain, the unique blue Doff and the repeatable assignment for the purple one. You want to get there as fast as you can and if you can get bonus colonists for nothing then it ought to be worth it. My Doff strategy for all my toons is to focus on the colony missions first for this reason.
I do this already - I am just trying to speed up the process by getting those who don't sell their colonists to take notice.
I usually keep a Gorn Boff. They make great meatshields.
Hope this helps.
Take care!

Anyway, my thanks to the 3 people who have sent me Gorn Colonists. I am still looking and happy to continue to trade for them.
