I fly an escort and I use Attack pattern omega 3 and Attack Pattern Alpha those are the must have, but what about Attack Pattern Delta and Beta? Are they actually worth it with having already 2 attack patterns?
I just want to say I am new to PvP and I started STO a few months ago and I have learn't PvP is extremely hard and yes I die a lot especially against Klingon's in Pugged matches. Im cool with that because each time I die, I learn something new from that death. Like stay away from that person flying that BoP from now

. If people started looking at PvP as a challenge to over come like you would a final boss in an game maybe we could get more players. I don't know I just felt the need to say that. I enjoy it and those who Squish me all the time must enjoy it so as long as that keeps happening Ill keep getting better

..... I hope.
Anyway Thanks for the help.

Attack pattern alpha doesn't share any cooldown with bridge officer attack patterns, so there is no problem with running a second attack pattern, in fact I would even go so far as to say that it would be recommended.
Also, this bit is my opinion, the damage buff that one recieves from attack pattern omega is negligible in the shadow of something like cannon rapid fire 3. So really the biggest benefit of running APO is the immunity to movement debuffs and disables. So with that in mind, you might like to experiment with something like CRF3 in your commander slot, and 2 copies of APO1 in the ltcmdr slots (that is assuming you are in an escort with 2x ltcmdr tac slots).
I will finish by saying that your approach is refreshing, good job and keep it up. Hope to see you in the queues.
If you get Delta all over yourself, bad things will start to happen to anyone that attacks you. It's sorta like BOP repellent. Anyone that shoots you gets it on them, and you get protected from all incoming fire.
They do not stack so u may find yourself using one or the other when omega is down. Beta if you are on an aggressive attack run, Delta if you are on the defensive. That's NOT quite entirely accurate. Many times your target IS shooting you anyways, so Delta is very useful. But when its not, you need beta if you want to be sure they get some nasty on them. But if you are running Beta you don't really have a pattern defense, so be sure to run it with tactical team, or some other defensive buff. Even if that buff is simply distributing shields. It's the new OP!
I took some pictures of ships without defenses. See the sig.
2 x Omega or Omega + Beta are still probably the safer choices.
But you say "I'm a noobie" so you need the buff defense of the APD...well, I'll tell you a secret...I often have even two APD to survive at Ker'rat...:D
IMO, APD is ideal if you use a Cruiser that has the BOFF slot for it. You use it to supplement your own defenses and debuff anyone attacking you. Or, if the enemy isn't prioritizing you, throw APD on a teammate that is. Extend Shields + APD is a nice defense assist, most especially if you throw in a 3rd buff for them. This can easily be done with Cruisers.
