I was wonder what the devs were working on until I started STO and saw the armitage class. The ship looks sick in is self. but all those abilities and the fighters? Will this ship be the ship to end the KDF's carrier riegn? Should the feds even have carriers?

These and more questions...feel free to rant and rave. LOL

None of the devs working on this would have been working on the areas where the KDF is lacking anyway.

You want to blame something, blame No Win Scenario, Colony Invasion, Fleet Starbases, or PvP, all of which are using devs who would create KDF content.

There's nothing about this ship that's designed by people who would be making KDF content otherwise.

Considering that the Armitage is the 2nd carrier being introduced to the Federation, I'd say yes.

Other than KDF ships, like say the Ferasan Ocicat Escort Carrier with boarding parties instead of "fire at everything". :D

He/she was refering to lack of PvP balance, not KDF development.

Btw, don't let the PvP Dev forum posts confuse you, there's been nothing developed for PvP. There's nothing to indicate anything is being white boarded. They're waiting until after the initial Starbase/Season 6 rollout to spend time finding out what they can use or not from the secret PvP code for another project.

As it is the NWS/CI content it going to be faction gated. Not sure if you were around for the old STFs when they were faction gated, but this will seriously hurt the KDF faction. Intentional or not this will make the KDF faction one step closer to going away.

I refuse to belive that the carrier is the reason for KDF players to play and stay KDF.

    Indeed it is not.

Regretably Cryptic has failed misearby in creating any sort of decent KDF experience. Look in my signature to see the shamefull truth of Cryptic with the KDF.

    Its not.............

I only play KDF and I have never owned a carrier, I fly the old reliable Hegh'ta and though she is a great
ship she is getting a little long in the tooth and I am in the opinion as many others are that it may be
time to revisit the handicaps that were placed on it at launch and give it a little boost in light of the many
new Fed ships that can do the same exact thing the BoP can without giving up anything.

I like the KDF because it's where the cool kids hang out and talk about fighting the system maaan.:D:p

In regards to the carriers, the Federation now has the edge, they carry the ability to not only deploy spam but to counter it more effectivly (point defense console) as well. I actually cant wait for the next lock box as I hope it gives us the point defense console but seeing the last two wonderful consoles we got, I foresee us getting the Defiants cloaking device universal console instead.:p

I carry a squad of Scorpions on my raptor (haven't used them yet), but they would't help against the torpedo cheese that Armitage puts up. Am not sure what would against 40 free photon torps every couple minutes.

But I've seen on many occasions what a good caitan carrier captain can do against a Borg boss ship. Simply AMAZING !

I have had the KDF for a few months and its mostly the same as the Fed, only the ship is better when you start, it Moves!!!! lol, and I am not the only one who think/knows
this.. when you start out on the fed side, your ship, is crud, I am not saying every one thinks that, just a lot of players do. I am still lvling my KDF toon, ( Jane ) and still every things almost the same as the fed side I say again. But yeah I am enjoying the Klingon side, the only down side though?
Every ones yelling at you!!! lol, Talk later.

If you want to split hairs...Anything with a U.S.S. or a NX is a fed ship...pretty sure both carriers meet the requirement.

If you want to get into who made the carrier, youre still wrong because the non-canon TRIBBLE comes from pwe, not "the undine".

Yes I have played klingon since sfc 2, thats when the blue plauge really came into being. The Kdf ships are far better than the fed counter parts. Once you go klingon you never go back. And we need our esg like the lyrans had, :).

I play the KDF cause I see it is fun. And a different way to play compared to Federation. I do play them both. It depends on my mood for the day. The Fed I fire my guns more and like the story. On my Klingon however I like for the comp to come into hand to hand combat range. So I can start cutting them with my blade. And see how brutal I can be. Plus I'm happy to cruise around in the K'T'inga which is one of my favorite ships of this group. I plan to see how far I can take this cruiser. So the KDF is my way to challenge myself to a harder game play. I'm more a "weekend warrior" on this game. Last weekend was my big KDF playing. As I worked on getting R&D up to match my level. Now I can make my own more level weapons for my personnel and ship.

I recommend KDF for any new player. At least give is a try. I did and found out its lots of fun.

I'm one of many who felt carriers should've remained on the KDF side to give the two factions some uniqueness. Same can be said about sub-system targeting, it's not a warriors style to take out an enemies engines etc.

But hey, we don't matter, we are only 16% of the consumer base and thus do not matter to Cryptic/PWE. It has been stated over and over again by the higher up's and the constant lame excuse why no work is done for the KDF faction.

Actually, i'd like some answers. why is it that i can be killed in 5 seconds by a single player, but that same player can't be killed by 10 ships shooting at him? Huh? what the **** is this ****? Plus players are able to cloak during combat and disappear, regardless of tractor beams, shockwaves, and what have you. This game is bull**** and i really wish i had never bought it. It gives the entire franchise a bad name.

I wonder how he justifies that figure.

Seems that he does not have to openly account on how it was created.
That makes it even more questionable.

At least we're getting a couple of nice new toys to play with. The fleet Corsair FDC and one of the BoPs are on my shopping list. The Fedside stuff leftme somewhat cold.

What that is is a player that's been playing for a long time, has everything, and has endless hours of PvP experience, to where they have the perfect build lined up, etc.

That is KDF content. It's just not exclusive.

Personally I don't give a rat's TRIBBLE about the storyline content or 1-20 levels (I hated 1-20 on my fed, the ships suck and the combat is stale). I just want to make sure we aren't getting the soggy cheerios when it comes to the universal content that's being pushed out(Starbases, fleet ships, etc). So far I haven't seen any evidence that we are, but we all know how Cryptic tends to half-TRIBBLE stuff on the Klingon side and not tell anyone about it until it's sitting in our lap.

The only other thing that irritates me is the favoritism Feds get in the C-store. I can understand why, but it's still irritating as hell to be treated like a second rate customer.

The Fleet Scourge Destroyer looks nice too. It's got the superior BO layout of a fleet escort (except an SCI instead of an ENG in the Ensign slot, which works just as well if not better) and the maneuverability of a Defiant. Throw a Plasmonic Leech console in that bad boy and you'll be a heavy hitting, fast, tanky SOB.

Almost makes up for the fact that my Garamba won't have a Fleet version... almost.

On the downside, the Raptors range from mediocre to TRIBBLE.

The it has dropped 2% from the first time he quoted a number many many months ago.

    Thats sad.

They can state that building the KDF up will not bring more players in but evidence evidently shows that letting it lanquish will drive the players away.

I wonder its thats the chicken or the eggs fault?

I'm admittedly not heavily invested in the KDF at the moment, but I sure do wish that there were more costume options available.

There are "formal" off-duty outfits, but those don't look like anything a Klingon would wear. What about the outfits from Worf and Jadzia's wedding?

    http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/File:Worf_and_Dax%27s_wedding.jpg

What about the simple Klingon clothing seen in part two of "Birthright"? Where are they? More skirt options for females? The long vests? The fur coat that Kahless' clone wore?

As far as ships go, I realize that there are fewer skins available. But I think the special consoles on the KDF ships are generally better than the ones on the Starfleet ships.
