I need help on my build for my Dread. I know it is crappy now but I want it to become a great ship. I'm taking anyones advice (even trolls). I'm using my variation of the Dragon Build.
Lt Tac: Torp High Yield:1 ; Fire at Will: 1
Ensign Tac: Tac Team: 1

*I use Theta Radiaton for the Escorts that park on my tail
**Currnet Devices I use Weapon Batteries; Shield Batteries; Aux Batteries; Subspace Field Modulator
Off the top of my head, I would other than the failaxy X being changed out for something -good- and capable of pvping. I would ditch EPTW3... it literally does nothing for you that EPTW1 doesnt it sacrifices far too much healing and tanking ability for the slot it fills for the pitiful dps increase.
weapons, get some ACCX2 Beams instead at the very least. borg weapons suck, hard. Ditch the tric ship's too slow to use it and more likely than not it will get shot down unless fired point blank... if it is, it has as much odds of killing you as the target anyway.
I'd swap EPTW3 out for ET3 and get some maintaince engineer doffs. Ditch that ET1 it's useless. Completely useless.
Aegis go bye bye Galaxy is too slow and fat to use them they are also not that good on anything else either. Borg is the way to go.
EPS flow regulator.. kick it to the curb. Remove Neutronium for SIF Generator same for that matter AMS.
Sci, remove the theta vent again useless on a big fat kid like the Galaxy. Put AMS in it's place.
First you might want to switch out these [BORG] weapons. Besides them being Mk XII, the [BORG] modifier of course does nothing in PvP. You might want to look for more Arrays with [Acc]x2 or better. Even at least one [Acc] is a must.
I am not sure about the Tricobalt, maybe I'd even try to run 8x Beams however I am not sure how decent it would be as a Tac. Besides that you might give another look to Chroniton torps, not for the damage, but for the proc.
You might want to change the Engines and Deflector for the Borg versions - it improves your survivability. Another possibilty would be two piece Omega and go for the Glider.
Consoles look ok, though I am not sure about that EPS one. You might want to trade it in for either another Armor or a SIF Generator.

So I should go full Borg set? and What should I use in place for EPS flow regulator?
The Galaxy is great IMHO in PvP, even against preset groups I constantly average well over 7 kills. Against pure randoms, I go for 14 to 15. It's my favorite Class :P

2 to 3 borg is your best bet. Maco, or Omega for the shield.
It's only great cause you haven't tried a better ship yet with a better build
Overall though I really do recommend you hop by my cruiser thread. A good chunk of my AC builds can be converted over without much modification to work in a Gal X.

Remove the tricobalt torp, is useless for a crusier. For pvp 8beams or 7beams + mine works better, chorniton mines are a pain in the ***, and trico mines can hit over40k (good combine with theta vent/eject warp plasma)
Antimatter spread is a skill for noobs, learn how to survive without it, replace it for another Neutronium or a RCS
Use 2xEPTS I or II , and EPTW 2 at lvl6, so they can chain perfect without CD issues (EPTS - EPTW - EPTS)
Lt Tac: Beam Overload 1 ; Fire at Will: 1
Ensign Tac: Tac Team: 1

Lt Science: Hazard Emitters 1; Transfer Shield Strength 2
Maco shield + Borg engine-deflector-console
3 Purple Conn Doff for Tactical Team CD (with this you get the same effect that TTx2)
2 Purple Shield Distribution Officer
Since when are [Acc]x2 beams necessary? FAW ignores these modifiers and regular beam fire is sufficiently accurate with just one [Acc] modifier.
but it works for regular fire, and for Beam Overload. Imo, 1 Beam accx3 for BO is a must for a dps crusier, for the rest u can go with mk 12 borg, they work fine.
Lt Tac: Tac Team 1 ; Beam Overload 2 (BO II)
Ensign Tac: Fire at Will 1
Commander Engineering: ENG 1; EPtS2; EPtS3; APttSIF3
Lt Commander Engineer: EptE 1; Reverse Shield Polarity 1; ENG III
Lt Science: Transfer Shield Strength 1; SCI II
Note: My slant would be towards a more 'engineering" tactical role. A TAC that can deal out dpv and dps and be able to heal himself & others is a huge force on the field.
FAW's broken again, again? Even so, the overflow from the extra Acc will be quite abit more useful than Dmg, and Borg.
The [Borg] BAs also have a single [Acc] modifier, as well as a [CrtH] mod. [Dmg] is only on the projectile weapons. Still not as good as [Acc]x2 but a heck of a lot more available.
Don't use RCS in a cruiser. Maybe the dkora and excelsior might be the exception.
I still believe that EPS will help with all of them beams.

Then again, I am an escort tac player, mav will have some good ideas. Tbh find -afterburner- one of the very few galx capts that I think twice about before going after.
Ok Guys this is my current set up. It keeps my shields and weapons at 125, I can aid my allies in PvP, and I kinda do well in PvP (went 14-0; 13-1; 15-0; and 15-0 in back to back PvP). I'm slowly making the money to change the borgs to normal weapons, I know they don't do anything in PvP
