Been waiting for this. Definetely gona bring my all to the challenge. Hope my first attempt isn't against the romulans :P. I've heard things about multiple scimitars :S . Though idk about reaching level 10, supposed to be next to impossible from what they've been working on in the test servers. Nonetheless should be fun :D

Can't wait to try this, I wonder if anyone will even get to wave 8 or 9 I've heard it's very difficult. Also I wonder what the reward is for beating all 10 waves.

So I assume that the longer you go, the more Fleet Marks you get. What is available to make it worthwhile for those that don't belong to a fleet other than the obvious bragging rights?

Where, in that post, did you see that it was a fleet event? Did I miss something?

Captains will be tested to see how long they can hold out against an ever-increasing enemy attack courtesy of a new Holodeck training program.

I wasnt aware this was a holodeck program, but that being the case why not finally use the currently useless holodecks at SFA for this?

I really like this hybrid approach to time-gated missions, and I hope the current time-gated missions will adopt the "always available, but with extra bonuses during calendar events" method.

I beat this last week with a group of randoms when they had the event on Tribble but they have since upped the difficulty even more with the latest patch and it is noticeably harder now at the lower levels. Science and healing captains are king here.

Yeah, I guess when the Federation's at war with every sentient race from here to Talax, they have to vary up the simulation a bit. :p

I like this. The idea of trying to face down several or more Borg tac cubes with their escorts is interesting.

"The No Win Scenario event ends when either the transport is destroyed or players successfully defeat the 10th and final wave."

    So...that'd be a WIN then, wouldn't it?

"Pretty darn tough to beat" scenario would be more accurate. Disappointing, in that I expected the forces to just increase and increase, drawn from a random pool of the enemy's ships until the forces are inevitably crushed, but it seems that it's just ten predetermined waves from a random enemy race

Who knows, maybe at the end of the program it's discovered that the simulation was sabotaged...;)

My guess is that after the tenth wave the enemies get stacking weapons bonuses and resists and for every one you destroy, ten more warp in.
EG they let the engine cheat progressively, and exponentially, until you die.

The event is not artificially gated, so it is possible to complete it :)

Considering you get a reward just for finishing six waves, I would imagine keeping the freighter alive for ten waves will be pretty hard. And my understanding is each wave is built differently. So a group that would normally wipe the Borg off their shoes will find battling the Dominion a little difficult, etc.

So I'm sure it is technically possible to beat it, but I would love to see a youtube video of the first team that actually pulls it off.

Yes at level 7 you get 3 scimitars shooting thalaron beams at you,me and my fleetmates got to level 9.
And to do this you must already have full MKXII weapons and MKXII set.
And No win scenario is perfect challenge for science ships, actually one where science ship is important to have in team.

No Win Scenario and Colony Invasion will be one of the main missions for gathering Fleet Marks.
Currently on tribble you get fleet marks and lots of dilithium(even more than in stfs)but that depends on what level you reach.
And I love killing Mogatu pet in Colony Invasion mission.

No Win Scenario... No Win Scenario... No Win Scenario...

The No Win Scenario event ends when either the transport is destroyed or players successfully defeat the 10th and final wave.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Noun 1. no-win situation - a situation in which a favorable outcome is impossible; you are bound to lose whatever you do

Played it twice, did Wave 8 and did Wave 10 on a second try...

All I am going say, that Tractor repel is going to be a loving friend.

Why is it targeted at 5 man groups. Surely a 10 man group version would be good as well?

(Especially since there is a distinct lack of over 5 man scenarios in the game)

was that before or after they upped the difficulty? wave 1 is now the same difficulty as wave 4 was plus there are now new enemy types that fire those warhead things.

When can we get a ground-based version? Right now the closest thing we have is the Defera temple hard mission, but that's A: not so hard to win and B: only available once a day AT BEST.

I think they should workout some correction...a real Now Win Sceneario will end when "Transport" or "Players" die. No other ends shall be possible. Cryptic.....Never heard of Kobayashi Maru before Kirk's cheat?
