DS9 Duty Officer Pack Promo

For a limited time, there is a chance to receive a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship or Lobi Crystals upon opening a Gamma Quadrant Duty Officer Cadre before they’re discontinued.

    Will the ship be in a tradeable box like it was for the winter event or will the ship bind to the character after opening the gamma quadrant doff pack.

    Nice work....didn't expect this.. I will no doubt be picking up some doffs...

    This method works IMO to push items... mainly because even if we don't get the bug... we'll still get doffs

    this i like. you get what you pay for and a little extra with an outside chance of something really cool.

    plus I like doffs so no qualms about buying a few packs.

    All the people holding onto their JHAS boxes are going to be sorely disappointed. The bottom just fell out on this market.

    So what are the odds again?

    'Normalized?'

    That means what... 1 in 500 this time, instead of 1 in 1000?

    Oh well. Resolve doffs prices will tank over the next couple weeks, but if the Jemmy ships are in boxes, then maybe I'll get the chance to buy one!

    I agree, this is a nice incentive that might actually convince me to buy some packs. I love DOFF's and the added bonus is nice. The keys and lockboxes don't get me, because I don't know what I'm buying. This is a true bonus.

    But seriously yes, I agree. Static Guaranteed items (Doffs in this case), Some in-game currency (Lobi in this case), and a chance at a Rare prize (Bug ship).

    Well played Cryptic. THIS is a promotion. We all get something we for the most part like, with the added bonus of Lobi or a neat ship.

    I actually have had a little faith restored in your marketing department (or whom ever fell on the sword to get this promotion active).

    Aha! Not only something that has a known value, but a consistent amount of Lobi? Now I know just how many to get should I want store item XYQ, that's great!

    And doffs. Always looking for more of the little blighters. Especially since exchanges love to give out civvies they won't take back.

    Well Played Cryptic Well played.

    Don't usually go for Duty Officer packs, but I am not against them (just kind of like playing the odds with the Doff Assignments), but This promo has me thinking it is time to invest in some Gamma officers, and even if I don't get the bugship, I feel I got what I paid for. Though, if I do, BONUS. especially since I wasn't around for the winter event.

    This will prove to be interesting ploy over the next two weeks. Some purchase the Gamma pack to see on the exchange for 2.5 to 3.5 million (depending on demand). May see a huge price spike for those willing to make a quick increase in EC Figuring the risk of a slight chance of getting the Jem' Hadar ship will return a better investment in EC.

    Exactly. I'm not too happy about still not knowing the odds, but overall, THIS is how you run in-game lotteries. Attach the chance to something that has a value and a use in and of itself. The box and key feel like being cheated. This does not. I know exactly what I will get when I open it, whether I get a ship or not.

    And better yet, if you bought it on the exchange for 2 mil and get a 3 mil purple Doff... I mean, lots of people have opened enough of these to have an acceptable idea of how often that happens.

    I have been so much wanting that ship, the only lock box escort, but I knew I could never get it. But once I saw that post, I litterly froze. I have to go, need to buy gamma quadrant box.

    Love the fact you guys did this, but hate the fact how rare it still is. I just spent $50 on duty officer packs and still no ship =(. I suppose my own fault for trying, but still sucks. I really wish the odds of getting a ship go up with each pack you open, say like 5% for the first pack and increase with each additional pack.

    Oh now this is evidence of listening and what we needed something that gives a decent amount of lobi's for your c points and finally was able to get some jem hadar ships too :) Way to go Cryptic this is awesome :D

    The real bonus would be if they guaranteed the Jem'hadar and galore class ships, plus 10 lobi crystals as a bundle that would be a hot seller. I guess I am the only genius that can figure that out though?

    Great idea. My longer standing officers probably have two ds9 sets of doffs each anyway. The newer officers could always use some as I develop their crews. On a promotion like this there is an additional reason to make a purchase. Marrying it with a shot at an unlikely prize and a consolation prize doesn't feel like a "loss" or walking away with nothing. This is good marketing. Hope you enjoy some success with it.

    This is awesome, I'm trying to teir 4 on all my doff skills anyway.

    Buy something going oop in STO & free stuff? I think its a win win.

    Gamma doff packs go for about 2.4 Mil EC. Who is going to flip their Gamma packs and guy keys off the exchange to open lockboxes? Kind of a double dip.

    If someone is curious about the chances of getting one....well I opened 20 (which was a pain in the .....because someone at cryptic said "roster is limited to 400 not 300 or 500 ...probably to frustrate players ,I don't see other reason) and got 200lobi crystals.

    Much better than the lock boxes, you get want you intended to buy, get a bonus set lump of lobi and a chance at getting a bug.

    I hope this is the way forward with these prizes.
